Smokers... (Why) do you litter your butts everywhere?

This is one thing that I've never understood.

Some smokers won't throw any regular garbage in the street, but they will pitch a 100 butts a day anywhere but the ashtray.

Why do tobacco Nazis want to outlaw smoking, because it kills, but don't have a problem with alcohol?

When was the last time a guy smoked a pack and killed a family of four head on?...

Some lady was smoking in line at the drive threw and tossed her butt out into the gravel landscape. I've just never understood the mass change of behavior between littering cigarettes and littering burger wrappers.

Good point, but if someone is sitting next to me and wants to drink himself under the table, thats his perogative and doesnt affect me at all. If a guy is next to me and smoking, his smoke inevitably drifts over in my face, I have to inhale it and we have a problem.

I'll take a shot at this, as a non-smoker it's just a guess.
It's because if someone has trash in their car, they can set it aside, and toss it in the next receptacle they get to. The reason peole don't use their ashtrays, is because they don't want to reek up their car with the smell, thus the flicing out the window...
... this is just a guess.

It's uncomfortable for non-smokers to inhale 2nd hand smoke.

Letting some guy get completely $#ithoused at the bar and leave is lethal immediately.
