The difference being that the NFC was a different conference than it is today. As it currently stands, the best AFC team should beat the best NFC team 9 out of 10 times. The NFC sucks, pure and simple. Marino went up against Joe Cool and the Niners in only his second season. Big, big difference there.

If Peyton can get to the big game any time soon, I like his odds of winning it.
