Brees likely to get "Payton Manning money"??

One of the guys on FSN Radio just said that he expects Drew Brees to land a deal paying him "Payton Manning Money" that will "set records".

I think the guy is f'ing nuts, but who knows. He's the biggest fish in the pond this year, so I guess it's possible.

I'd MUCH rather have Dante Culpepper, but whatever.

I guess it could happen but why would a GM throw big $$ at him when they don't even know if he can throw a ball yet or even at a high level again?

not if his post-surgery shoulder is anything like Pennington's. They both had rag arms to begin with.

It will be interesting to see how good Brees will be now, that he doesn't have Tomlinson and Antonio Gates bailing his ass out.

I think he'll get more than he's worth, but when doesn't that happen in FA?

I don't know who this Payton Manning is, but i doubt he makes more than an NFL QB, even at the league minimum.

I have heard the Packers front office might shop him for draft picks. Who knows though-there are a lot of crazy stories out there.
