Training Camp Help

I have just been informed that my company is sending me on a business trip to Chicago from August 5-12. Since I will be out in the mid-west I was thinking of running up to River Falls. Could someone tell me the days camp are in session. I know they begin July 28 but I can not find out when they end. Any other info about camp such as the best day to come and when would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks in advance Planet.

After Google searching I did find the River Falls site and was able to obtain the daily schedule. But now I would like to know from you guys with experience going there what practice sessions are better to go to. Are special teams practices interesting or maybe another session.

Someone else with experience will have to chime in; this will be my first time going. I'll be there 31 July through 4 August. Really want to stay for the Vikings scrimmage, but have to come back for work.

You never know ahead of time what's gonna be good and what's not. Usually the fights take place in one of the first 2-5 practices. If you can catch the scrimmage with teh Vikings, that's your best bet.
The special teams practices are pretty boring, though, and a great time to take in the Mall, or sleep in, or anything else. Otherwise, they are pretty much all the same.

While I have no first hand experience at training camp, I do have a suggestion for you.

Dont forget your camcorder and bring lots of video tape. You're going to need it to make game film of all the players and practices so you can break down Hali's forthcoming bust status and how fat Ryan 'Jelly Donut' Sims is.

When you post your breakdown and analysis, please whatever you do, do NOT say anything good about the team. Remember, all the draft picks were wastes and the UDFA's were college nobodies.

This will be helpful for the planet community that typically only gets the game film clips from the UWRF site to break down how practice went and then declare it a failure.

This will be my fifth, and third in a row....

Practices vary, with the day, the weather, and the coach's whims. Some are helmets and shorts only, some are walk-throughs, and some similated "full" contact (though not full-speed, usually.) The best thing I can suggest, I think is set aside a couple of days and plan to hit both the morning and afternoon practices. You'll get a variety....

With Herm, I'm just guessing from what I've heard so far, that practices will be more intense. Dick was laid-back; perhaps too much so.

This year will be my 2nd in 3 years. ST practices aren't that bad. Kinda cool to see how the wedgebusters work on their game. Also wanna see Colquitt's punts, to see if they're as idfficult to field as everyone was saying last year. Vermiel prectices were pretty lax. I'm anxious to see Herm's uptempo hands-on approach. For those considering the scrimmage Mankato is a good ways, maybe an hour drive, from RF/Twin Cities.

The scrimmages in Mankato are a cool scene, though. It's more of a carnival-type atmosphere. they put up a lot of games for kids, etc. It does cost, usually.
If you go to Mankato, make sure to get there early, sit in the main stadium, and on the top row. That way you can watch both the main field, and what is going on on the auxilliary practice fields behind the stands. That is the best place to sit and get the best of everything.
