So which is our real defense?

The pathetic one we saw against Pitt and Cinci

Or the great one we saw against Denver, SF

or the middle of the road one we saw against the Cards.

I think we are closer to the Cards version bordering towards bad more than towards excellent.

BTW, the defense won the damn game in Arizona. Christ. Yeah they got shellshocked at the start. They proceeded to dominate the rest of the way.

It doesn't matter if they play well. The idiot naysayers will just say we did it against a second-year quarterback and a Seahawks team without Shaun Alexander.

IM afraid you might be right.....Still some huge holes and a few players im not sold on.

Wesley, Knight, Bell, Mitchell, any of the DT's...

Not an awful defense and still worlds better than anything DV ever fielded, but certainly nothing special either. I have faith that Herm will turn it around eventually though. Just needs a few more peices to the puzzle and dump Gunther.

If we dump Gunther, we also need to hope for the rapid development of our young safeties and we still need a game changing DT. Without that our Cover 2 will get shredded.

I fear our D will have to get worse again before it can get really really good. We need some DT's and these young safeties to develop and by the time that happens Law and Surtain may be well past their prime and we'll have to get a couple new CB's. But when that happens we'll be great. Watch out for the Chief's D in 09 baby.

Shouldn't Shaun be back for the Chiefs game? I thought they just expected him to miss one more week?

Denver's offense is looking pretty bad this season. These are Denver's scores over the last 5 games.

Does slowing Denver really make KC's D look good?

The game was in Denver, where they normally assrape us. Yeah, I think that was a good game for the D.
