What is your favorite Chiefs squad with a losing record?

Which one is it? Losing Chief squads need love, too.

Deron Cherry, Bill Kenney, Carlos Carson, Stephon Paige...

Those were the teams I grew up rooting for and watching suck year in and year out. Deron Cherry just might be my all time favorite Chief that I watched play.

I liked the '04 Chiefs. They were exciting as hell. You had to watch to see just what unique and creative way they would find to blow the game.

Still bring out the Cherry jersey when the D isn't having a good day for a little inspiration.

Good thread to point out the mid to late 80s as a comparison to these football days we are in now. 84-88 was marked by coaching changes and QB controversy with some scattered star performances to keep the hope alive.

The labor trouble didn't help, but the coaching changes and QB problems were the most obvious.

Which year was the Cherry 4 INTs game? That one was fun.

Wow the 2001 team was so much fun. No one expected us to win (we didnt) but we were finally out of the shadow of MartyBall. Gunther just wasnt headcoach material..

It was like new light was brought into the organization. We finally had a coach that proved he could win a super bowl, unlike the coaches we had and currently have. There was so much hope that we might build a contender...

But Vermiel let us down. I feel his goal was to prove he could build the best offense in the history of the NFL and outscore the opponents... His lack of interest in the defense really divided the organization. It will take years and a total player change out to get over the last 5 years of Vermiel...

I dont see Herm staying around long enough to get the chance to fix Carls 18 years of screwups.... If he is even the right guy for it. I might complain about Edwards, Fans expectations are high, Playoffs or else. Anything less than an AFC Championship in the next 3 years is a failure. Carl has his man, give him the tools to do his job Carl. Herm you need to grow some balls!

Dark Clouds are over Arrowhead once agian. We are back to MartyBall II...

My favorite losing team was the '79 team that went 7-9. You could tell that Marv finally had this team headed in the right direction after so many crappy seasons in which there was no improvement whatsoever.

Steve Fuller gave me hope for the future, and Levy even let the offense play with two WR's that year after using a base offense of one WR and three RB's the year before.

I went with 1977. They were bad, but had some players I really liked. Gary Barbaro, Tony Reed, Henry Marshall (even though he's MU material), Jim Lynch, Emmitt Thomas, and one of my all-time favorites Ted McKnight.
