I think that the way we made the playoffs was good.

(apologies for the poorly written thread title)

Listening to the reports from Herm's presser today, it made me think that we're in a good place, mentally, going in.
Look at week 6, we were 2-3 going into the SD game, after an 0-2 start, the team got fired up, rallied to win three in a row, and, after a stumble at Miami, beat OAK and DEN. to end up 7-4. Then the news was that Chiefs were hot. Then we lost three in a row.

It almost seems like when we get too confident, we let up. We owned it in 2003 with our 9-0 start and homefield through the playoffs. Then we got beat. This year, we lost three games on the road we thought we'd win: Pitt, Mia & Cle.

But I'm almost more interested in this team and their frame of mind now.
I bet we'll be fired up by the lack of respect, and there are a lot of guys for whom this may be their last chance in the red and gold. Plus, new guys like DJ, Jared, Tamba, Page, Pollard, who are in there for the first time or who missed out for a couple of years, I think they'll be really pumped.

GO CHIEFS!!!!

The white sox and cards both backed into the playoffs, the steelers barely made it in last year and how many teams in the NCAA tourney make a run. We need to let it all hang out with our wangs out baby. Hit everyone right in the mouth.

Dont get too excited......this team plays like crap on the road against good teams.

Recent history says this statement is true.

BUT

If I had to pick where I want to start a road win streak for the playoffs, it would be at Indy. matchup wise, momentum wise, even Karma wise.

can a naysayer like you at least agree to that??

Well expectations are extremely low. Nobody expected the Chiefs to get in or do anything......

i'd be more comfortable had we not backed in. simply because i'd have more confidence had we beat cleveland, and won either of the next two games we lost. i'm ecstatic we're in, and like our chances against indy, but i still don't think they can win three games on the road, against playoff caliber teams. keep in mind, IF we beat indy, we'd have to beat "a whale's vagina" or baltimore on the road. but, regardless, i'll still be cheering.

GO CHIEFS!!!!!!!!
