Note: some of the stuff on there is so bad that I can't help but wonder if it is actually intended to be an unadvertised parody site along the lines of Landover Baptist? I'm thinking, though, that they're actually trying to be serious!

I'm pretty sure that's Texe Marrs' website. thats why the text and advertisements refer back to the Codex Magica book. (written by Texe Marrs)

I don't know about altogether innacurate, but at least one section is flagrantly deceptive. At the bottom of the page I linked to in the op, he presents a "quote" from a pagan author named Kerr Cuhulain, presented by way of depicting Cuhulain as admitting that the "Goat of Mendez" is the acknowledged god of the witches, that Freemasons admit that Baphomet was a pagan fertility god (good luck finding any Freemason who will say that, since they are among the first to know it is patently untrue), that Baal was widely worshipped in Egypt (Baal wasn't an Egyptian deity, he was Phoenician), and that the Goat of Mendez/Baphomet, while acknowledged deities of wicca and witchcraft, are intended to mock Christ. He essentially tries to portray this pagan author as confirming some myths embraced by the fundie community. But if you look at the link to the witchvox.com article from which he pulled the quote, you'll see that not only was the quote not the words of Kerr Cuhulain, but that Cuhulain was quoting them from Thomas Carder's Capalert website, in the process of debunking the quote. The clear intent was to make readers believe that Kerr Cuhulain was saying those words, rather than criticizing them.

I don't know if the thing about the owl on the dollar bill is accurate or not. I had never heard of it until now. I had always heard of it as being a spider (which would pretty much ruin his summation that it is related to "owl horns" sign), and when I took a tour of the US Mint during a class senior trip in 1985, the tour guide at the mint also told us it was a spider.

In the various "devil horns" photos, he apparently doesn't notice that the symbol being made by Bill Clinton is not the same one being made by Bush et al. Nor does he apparently notice that neither Maria Shriver nor Yasser Arafat are making either of the signs in the photos in which he claims they are. And where he came up with the idea that Helen Keller was an occultist, and that this is why she invented the thumb-index-pinky sign that bears a superficial resemblance to the "hook 'em horns" sign, as the sign for "I love you," is anybody's guess, as she was very clearly Christian.

Of course, if this is Texe Marrs' website, that explains a lot. He always was one of the nuttier of the fundie nutballs out there.

I'll take your word for it... I dont know enough about masons or baphomet. but, that's hardly a glaring inaccuracy. you know enough about it to realize it is inaccurate, most people dont have a clue about ancient deities.

And what place does a spider have on the dollar? are there any deities that are represented by spiders?

I see an owl, you see a spider. it's subjective, I suppose. But then again, I had heard of the owl before I had seen it. I must have an occipital bias.

variations on a theme? I agree that Helen Keller doesnt belong on that page. Was she a theosophist? I think the mistake is that the site's author equated theosophy with occultism.

Sure, but that doesn't mean it has the same meaning for everyone. I've done the sign a million times and I don't worship Satan. The only thing that matters is how it is perceived by the communicator and his communicatee. Words, and symbols, do not inherently "contain" any meaning; that's our job.
