Looks like I'll be dead in a couple of weeks.

Irregular heartbeat, atrial fibrillation. They're going to stop my heart and restart it to get it beating right again... but for a brief moment, I'll be dead.

I plan to NOT move towards the light.

I've got a buddy who's had to do this twice. Come out of it fine both times. Sure as hell sounds scary though.

I don't think you are technically dead until your brainwaves stop. If I'm wrong, tell my Uncle Joe I said "hi".

One could assume that he came out of the first one fine, since he had to go through it a second time.

SO, I could smoke some of that stuff in your avatar, and be considered legally dead, right?

I wish you well!

Just by chance my Father will be having this done Thursday morning at...5 A.M!

Its an important thing to get done as you know but when I heard the time I was like thats just not right.
One to do that to the patient but what time will the docs alarm go off & just how awake can he possibly be by then.

I dont like it at all.

My dad has some other complication & hes nervous as hell.
Hes been sneaking in the extra grandfather time with my kids this week.

Hes had a couple of other procedures but for some reason this one has him a tad more nervous then those did.
Hes 68 & has Diabetes plus a couple of other things.

Again I wish you well.

So when should we start to panic if you're not posting in the future?

* Brodie Croyle (!) is the only quarterback drafted by the team to start a game for them since the mid-80's...and he barely beat out Damon Huard in the process. Croyle then promptly lost all six of his starts. He couldn't even beat out Tyler Thigpen once he returned from injury.

Good luck, Bob. Doesn't sound fun at all. I think I'd rather have a prostate exam.

Death is an infinitely long DMT trip induced by the Pineal Gland.. where your solid beliefs in "real-life" come together in a new dream-like reality! Nothing to be afraid of! Time doesn't exist!

Not exactly.

Death:

1. The end of life. The cessation of life. (These common definitions of death ultimately depend upon the definition of life, upon which there is no consensus.)

2. The permanent cessation of all vital bodily functions. (This definition depends upon the definition of "vital bodily functions.") See: Vital bodily functions.

3. The common law standard for determining death is the cessation of all vital functions, traditionally demonstrated by "an absence of spontaneous respiratory and cardiac functions."

4. The uniform determination of death. The National Conference of Commissioners on Uniform State Laws in 1980 formulated the Uniform Determination of Death Act. It states that: "An individual who has sustained either
(1) irreversible cessation of circulatory and respiratory functions, or
(2) irreversible cessation of all functions of the entire brain, including the brain stem is dead. A determination of death must be made in accordance with accepted medical standards." This definition was approved by the American Medical Association in 1980 and by the American Bar Association in 1981.

In any event, avoid that light at all costs.
