Announcement
Last weekend I took Joie to Iowa to see her friends/family and to sell her father a rifle that I've owned since I was 16. After handing him the gun I asked him if I could marry his daughter. A smile came over his face. I didn't know if it was because he was happy or if it was because he was holding a gun when I asked. But he said that I would make a fine son-in-law.

However, that was the easy part as I had to go inside and ask Joie herself.

I walk inside with the ring in my pocket. There she was sitting in the kitchen talking to her mother. Neither knew what was about happen. I am surprisingly calm at this moment. I kneeled down in front of her, presented the ring and popped the question. I suddenly get nervous.I already knew the answer but I didn't know what her reaction would be. Although her reaction mirrored a panic attack I believe it was because she was overcome with joy as she is now wearing the ring.

So I now take this opportunity to announce the engagement of acesn8s and Joie.
