What did New Orleans offer us for #5?

Anyone hear?

I'm really glad to get Dorsey, but if the rumor is true that they were offering us their #1 and #2, and a #1 next year, I think I would've taken it.

That was the rumor but Chiefs personnel later denied it was ever offered.

I don't think the actual offer has been made public.

The Chiefs totally denied the 1st, 2nd, and 1st in 2009 report. The story going around is they offered their 1st, a 7th, and their 1st in 2009. Gretz wrote it up and just said they offered a 1st and 7th, which is completely insane, so presumably he left off the 2009 pick.

I guaran-dam-tee you it wasn't what Gretz said: A swap of 1sts and the Saints' 7th-round pick.

That's a ton to pass up, if it's true. BUT, we needed Dorsey with having to face Denver's zone scheme, Tomlinson, and now McFadden twice a year.

A 7th? Do the Saints think Carl is stupid?

Oh. Yeah. I could see why they would offer that.

I'm thrilled to have Dorsey. I'd rather just run with that.

Ah why mess with it. When you have a chance to draft a guy who's regarded as possibly the best player in the draft, just do it.
