Obama's Top Campaign Contributers

Top Contributors
This table lists the top donors to this candidate in the 2008 election cycle. The organizations themselves did not donate , rather the money came from the organization's PAC, its individual members or employees or owners, and those individuals' immediate families. Organization totals include subsidiaries and affiliates.

Because of contribution limits, organizations that bundle together many individual contributions are often among the top donors to presidential candidates. These contributions can come from the organization's members or employees (and their families). The organization may support one candidate, or hedge its bets by supporting multiple candidates. Groups with national networks of donors - like EMILY's List and Club for Growth - make for particularly big bundlers.

University of California $909,283
Goldman Sachs $874,207
Harvard University $717,230
Microsoft Corp $714,108
Google Inc $701,099
JPMorgan Chase & Co $581,460
Citigroup Inc $581,216
National Amusements Inc $543,859
Time Warner $508,148
Sidley Austin LLP $492,445
Stanford University $481,199
Skadden, Arps et al $473,424
Wilmerhale Llp $466,679
UBS AG $454,795
Latham & Watkins $426,924
Columbia University $426,516
Morgan Stanley $425,102
IBM Corp $415,196
University of Chicago $414,555
US Government $400,819

Under the fairness act, can you include the McCain and National Republican donations and PACs. I bet it is just as informative.

Also for fairness you could print the fact that Obama does not take money directly from PACs while John McCain does. Obama also ordered the Democratic party to follow suit.

Also for fairness could you print the fact that Obama takes money from unsecure and unverifiable "gift card" donors. Yeah, I think the unverifiable donors present a lot more opportunity for political buyoff than any PAC in the country.

Why the hell is the University of California, a public university system, funneling hundreds of thousands of dollars to a candidate?

This is a completely dishonest thread description, and it's rightly causing you justified confusion.

It's a list of employers of people who contribute. Not a list of corporate donations directly.

Obama has literally received in excess of $400,000 from Something Awful forum members dating back to the primaries.

But oh, right. GIFT CARDS!

I buy a stack of credit "gift cards". I have a list of names of Obama supporters. I plug the gift card into Obama's donation site using the names off of the list of supporters.

The Democrats in NE Iowa have taken a ton of money from PACs. Most of their money in fact, as reported by the Waterloo Courier. To whom does this order extend to?
