I had a ethernet wired Netgear router that worked great in my home for about 5 years before I sold it to go wireless.

Linksys generally is considered a "good" router. Are you overheating yours?

I had the same problem with LinkSys and switched to the Belkin. I've had good luck with the Belkin for a few years now...

dunno how it could be any cooler unless i actually "tried" to cool it. the heat vent is close in that room because of the computer equipment so it doesn't have anything blowing on it.

Personally, I have a Linksys WRT54g at homw that has been rock solid for at least 3 years, and have installed them in at least half a dozen places where I've never heard any issues back. |

it dies the same way each time too.
first i runs fine ... then slows down sporadically ... then you have to start unplugging it to reboot it every so often because it lags out ... then boom, it dies. never should of bought the same one again but it's just a basic deal that is easy to use. If it just wouldn't keep breaking. what i'm using now that keeps dying:

The WRT54g is widely regarded as a great, solid router and is widely sought after due to it's reliability and upgradability. |

its not in a cabinet or stuff someplace confined i don't even mess with it much except for opening a port or something occasionally. our power doesn't flicker or go off frequently for any kind of power spike damage. it is used every day though ... constant use

tbh the first one that dies was a different model linksys ... the same kind, but just without the wireless.
