The Standards Haley Inherits From Herm

Here's the "mountain" Haley will need to climb, as he takes over from our last HC (pains me to say the name). All these facts are beyond explanation.

STANDARD # 1:
The Chiefs are 2-23 over their last 25 games. Coaches are defined as being successful (at a minimum) if their won-loss record is .500 or above.

Last HC had a winning % of .080 over the past 25 games. That's not a blood-alcohol number (although you would wonder based on the coaching if it was). That's a winning percentage, achieved over the last year and a half plus of football!

STANDARD #2:
The 2 wins were against divisional foes, which last HC went 2-7 against in that time.

Under the last HC, the Chiefs have currently lost 17 STRAIGHT games (home and away) out of the division. Their last win against a non-AFC West team was vs the Bengals in Week 5 of the 2007 season!

That's right. 17 straight L's, including one to the LIONS (the only team they have beaten over their past 24 games)!!!

STANDARD #3:
Under the last HC, the Chiefs last road win against a team outside the AFC West was in Week 9 of the 2006 season (Rams). Including the playoff loss to the Colts, they have lost 13 STRAIGHT road games out of the division.

STANDARD #4:
Under the last HC, the Chiefs have lost 13 out of their last 14 games AT HOME in the once hallowed Arrowhead Stadium, which obviously is the worst stretch in team history.

1-13

at Arrowhead!

WTF????

For sake of comparison, the Chiefs lost (including in the playoffs) 14 games COMBINED over an 8 year period between 1990 through 1997, while winning 54 home games over that same time period.

So here's hoping Haley & Pioli takes the Chiefs and all of their long-suffering fans out of this mammoth abyss the last HC (& last GM) hath left us.

It can only get better. It just CAN'T get any worse!!
