Paul Harvey died today

Paul Harvey, the news commentator and talk-radio pioneer whose staccato style made him one of the nation's most familiar voices, died Saturday, ABC Radio Networks said. He was 90.

Harvey died surrounded by family at a hospital in Phoenix, according to ABC Radio Networks spokesman Louis Adams, where Harvey worked for more than 50 years. No cause of death was immediately available.

Paul Harvey Ruled. I loved "The rest of the story".

My favorite involved a story of a couple staying in their camper. They heard a noise outdoors and scratching/banging on the side. The husband went outside to see what the ruckus was all about and noticed a hose sticking in the side door and a gas can.

The potential gas-thief was rolling around on the ground, writhing and vomiting.

While he had been attempting to syphon gas, he had put the hose into the septic tank and had sucked a mouth/stomoch full of dump.

Paul Harvey, you were a hell of a radio guy. Good Day.

Major Bummer.

I wondered if he were having health problems, I only remember hearing him do the show a time or two in the last 6 months.

I think he was probably having "being 90 years old" problems.

I wonder if they'll seamlessly weave an advertisement for TempurPedic mattresses into his eulogy.

The title of this thread should have been "Paul Harvey,.. Good Day."

Obamacare’s fix for an American health care system that the federal government long ago broke, is to give the federal government far more power over American health care; that its solution to escalating health costs is to mandate greater health benefits (and, hence, higher costs); and that its solution to the pricey overreliance on pre-paid health plans — offered by insurance companies in lieu of real insurance — is to have the government require Americans to buy those pre-paid health plans under penalty of law.

I have vivid memories as a kid of riding with my dad in his truck when Paul Harvey was on the radio. I was probably too young to understand most of the stories, but I always loved listening just for his sign off.

Good Day, Mr. Harvey.

Good Day, Mr. Harvey.
He was a great storyteller, and even though you knew he was going to knock your socks off at the end..it was still awesome every time.

American Icon, no doubt.
