Status update on this game? Is it dead yet? Have they made being max level any more enjoyable? Are the space missions sandboxy instead of being on rails, or at least PVP space missions?

US server populations are heavy to full every night, so not dead. Seems busier than ever to me. Max level stuff and space missions remain the same. First expansion and level increase is coming sometime in the spring.

So, I realize I'm probably still the only one playing, but Rise of the Hutt Cartel came out yesterday (well, several days ago for preorders, of which I was one) and I'm pretty much blown away by it. Makeb is a pretty amazing planet, both in terms of artwork and technical improvements to the game, and while I'm disappointed that Chapter 3 marked the end of individual class stories, Chapter 4 in RotHC seems suitably epic in scope. Although we'll see how I feel about that after doing the planet 7 more times.

Haven't done the new op (or well, any of the old ones either, I don't really raid), but I hear it's really good as well. There's a couple new minigames, involving macrobinoculars and seeker droids which are okay (but can be frustrating/annoying, albeit in an addictive way).

In any case, 2.0 gets a big thumbs up from me. It seems like they gave a lot for $10.

Do I STILL have to pay to enjoy the game when I was paying all those months ago?

No, you don't have to. You'll be "preferred status". Although my sub's still active, so I can't really speak to what that means specifically.

You will have to purchase the expansion to access the expansion content, but I believe that once you do that you can do everything there as a f2p.

Hmmmm...well I don't wanna purchase an expansion! Sorry but I really enjoyed that game until I realized Jaessa was a psychopath.
