He didn't say since March. He said YTD.

I'm actually doing great in the market. How did I do it? I sold everything about 18 months ago and paid off all of my debt. Other than my house, I don't owe a dime for anything. As a result, I've got the cash to buy back everything at a tremendously reduced cost basis. I still haven't yet, and I'm not sure when I will. I'm considering going heavier into real estate instead of stocks.

The whole situation worked out pretty well for me, but to say that the market has been pretty much sideways is asinine.

For being a n00b to it, I'm up 200% for the last year and 100% for the last 6 months. I bought a bunch of BAC and XL when it was at about 3$ each and sold them both @ $10.

I lost a little trading one of those triple leveraged ETF's I haven't sold it yet, but I'm almost persuaded that the whole thing is a scam. Otherwise my numbers woud be even better. But no, my girlfriend doesn't look like Meghan Fox.

You have a reading problem. I said it has been sideways since this thread was started, not since the disaster began.

As for being up while the market is going down, it's not that difficult to do. But just like knowing when to start riding the market down, you have to know when to start riding it up.

you can triple your money in a day with this market. stem cells, alt energy, and green products are doing well. there are some great companies out there that are very undervalued. now it does take some brainpower to figure these things out, good luck!

Coming from someone who is NOT job hunting right now, this comes off as extremely arrogant. People are struggling and hurting whether or not it has hit you yet.

If you know anything about markets this is setting up to be the biggest bear trap in recent history.

That being said, there is SO much newly printed money the DOW could go to 20,000 in a couple of years and you'd still be losing money in real terms.

Could be. Maybe not. I've still been slowly getting back out of stocks and into cash until we see what happens in the next couple of months.

Things are improving and most of the indicators are pointing in the right direction, and this is the best you can do?

Good luck with that.
