Newsday's Bob Glauber has reported on his Twitter account that Burress' case has been adjourned to Sept. 23, and that Burress' attorney believes Plax will play in 2009.

isn't there a mandatory minimum of at least a year for an unlicensed concealed gun in NYC?

i haven't been following the case, what are his lawyers' arguments? or are they just delaying it?

His next hearing was delayed today until Sept 23rd, which then a trial date is expected to be set for the spring of 2010. Hence, allowing him to play for the 2009 season.

A legal analyst for ESPN said today said he will more than likely see jail time but not till 2010.

Goodell could suspend him before the legal system decides his fate as Sal Pal has reported today.

Sal also reported, at least one team has been in contact with the league office inquiring what the commish was going to do now with today's news.
