***Official Knowmo2724 homer-2000 thread***

Very few non-bronco fans can tolerate him. he creates inane threads that are homeristic in nature (his avatar is very apropos), and nobody loves him (not even his own mother)

'face, this can be the home for all knowmo threads so we aren't treated to the bi-weekly steaming 'presents' left by the front door.

I'll give it a rest once I feel that you guys understand that Peyton is Peyton again. I think after you watch the first preseason game the Manning updates will be unnecessary.

How are you so convinced Manning is Manning sight unseen? There's no way for anyone, even all the media, to know until he's playing real games.

My guess is he'll be good, maybe Philip Rivers good, but he'll never be best in the NFL again.

He was in much worse shape physically two years ago than he is now. He was playing injured for two or three years and has since gotten it fixed.

We're gonna see 35-45 TDs, 12 or less INT's

4800 yards 13-3 season.

He's fixed. Same old manning.

It won't let me embed the video so you will have to click the link to watch it. But basically, yeah. The nerves have regenerated, his armstrength is back, and his neck will not be broken if he takes a big hit. He is back.

I hear his neck is so strong now, he can head butt his way through a brick wall.

He'll be the best QB in the NFL this year.

Is that right?

Totally different injury. The issue was nerve regeneration. Once the nerve starts regenerating it isn't going to start degenerating if he gets hit.

Quote:
Usually there's a long dormant period, where nothing's happening," said one orthopedic surgeon with knowledge of the injury. "Then you start to see that improvement. Sometimes the nerve can be asleep for months, and then you see a flicker, and then accelerated recovery. It's not unusual to see a long dormant period, then the re-nervation period start and go to steady recovery."

He then added, "Once it's significantly improving, the nerve's not going to degenerate again."

"What that means is there's not permanent blocking of the nerve signal," the surgeon said. "If he's getting better, then the wires are working. Now, it's a matter of gaining strength and fine motor activity to return. The question is the pace of recovery for a 36-year-old guy, he's got a ticking clock. But you can plot the trajectory of his improvement over the last several months, and if you see a significant increase in strength the last few weeks, you can be more optimistic.

"You can plot the level of function and strength compared to the opposite arm, and plot it out to where he would be based on the current level of improvement on March 8. And if that plots out to over 90 percent by September 1, teams would be crazy not to take a shot on him. If it's a slower rate, that's a different story."

Manning has got the zip back. The whole injury thing is a thing of the past.

If Manning makes it through September with his stats looking like 1500 yards passing, 12 TD's and 2 or 3 picks, then I'll start to get worried. Until then, it's all just fervent hoping by all Bronco fans.

Everyone looks good in a controlled scrimmage.

Manning will look like Manning. He isn't some weak armed QB now. His arm strength is back, he is as smart as ever, he is as accurate as ever.
