***Official Knowmo2724 homer-2000 thread***

Very few non-bronco fans can tolerate him. he creates inane threads that are homeristic in nature (his avatar is very apropos), and nobody loves him (not even his own mother)

'face, this can be the home for all knowmo threads so we aren't treated to the bi-weekly steaming 'presents' left by the front door.

There is no doubt that Peyton Manning helps every player on the team, but Denver has one of the better defenses in the NFL. Those two ingredients alone is why they are one of the best teams in the NFL.

Ummmmmm you are aware that Montana played in KC in a different era right? You know before defenses were "Goodell'ed". To compare ANY passing stat with those of a previous era is stupid. Of course Peyton has more TD passes. He also plays in an era that is geared towards gaudy passing stats. Montana was a far better QB than Peyton.

Peyton has thrown more TD passes than Montana did with KC...

and Elway had a career QB rating of like 79

so I guess Elway is worse than Matt Cassel

Montana wasn't Montana when he played for the Chiefs. Peyton is still Peyton. That was all I was trying to say.

Please. He led the Chiefs to the AFCCG.

Other than Marcus Allen, that team had no elite talent on offense.

You can't be serious right. He did for us exactly what Peyton is doing for Denver. Taking a good team and making them better. He took us to the AFC Championship game for the first time since SB IV with nobodies at WR. He was still an elite QB when he played for us, but he was nearing the end of his career much like Peyton right now.

not worth arguing

he always talks about how Elway's QB rating means nothing because of the era and then he goes and drops this dime on us about Manning's TD passes...you know, in a league where 3 guys threw for 5000+ yards last year.

I was alive back then. You can just look at his #'s and tell that Montana wasn't the same player when he came to KC.

He also didn't have Jerry Rice in KC who is considered, you know, to be the GREATEST WR EVER TO PLAY THE GAME.

I'm not trying to bash on Joe Montana. I am just saying that Peyton Manning is playing better in Denver than Montana did when he was in KC.

I don't have to defend Elway's stats. I know his QB Rating looks like shit. It doesn't bother me at all. He went to 5 Super Bowls with those stats and retired the winningest QB of all time.

I would have liked to have seen what his numbers would have looked like if he played for Mike Shanahan or Bill Walsh his entire career though.
