Louisiana Parish needs to fire a justice of the peace....

Pathetic...

HAMMOND, La. (AP) - A Louisiana justice of the peace said he refused to issue a marriage license to an interracial couple out of concern for any children the couple might have.

Keith Bardwell, justice of the peace in Tangipahoa Parish, says it is his experience that most interracial marriages do not last long.

Neither Bardwell nor the couple immediately returned phone calls from The Associated Press. But Bardwell told the Daily Star of Hammond that he was not a racist.

This is why Government shouldn't be involved with it to begin with.

I heard this yesterday on the radio. I pictured the JP as Boss Hogg. I bet the couple thought he was making a bad joke for a second before they realized he's living in another world.

I dunno. Who should we leave the licensing of a state sanctioned union that have both state and federal tax implications then? The churches? They impose their own beliefs, and sometimes more on others just as much as the Govt. does.

No simple solution other than just for each and everyone of us to stick our own beliefs out of 2 other consenting adults decisions concerning a commitment they have towards each other.

There should be no tax sanctions or deductions of any kind.

No one. It should just be between the people getting married. It's just a contract.

Unrealistic.

You even mention it and you get branded as someone who is proposing to raise taxes. It has the life expectancy of zero.

A contract is a simple agreement, it doesn't need to be legitimized.

If one interprets another to be in breach of a contract, then one takes the other to court to have the supposed breach interpreted.
