Where Obama and the Dems went wrong on health care...

Hindsight being 20/20, we can see easily where health care went wrong and why for the Dems and Obama. The sad part is, they still don't seem to get it.

Rome wasn't built in a day: Words of wisdom the Democrats chose to ignore. Instead of grasping at the low hanging fruit everyone agrees on such as pre-existing conditions and out of State competition, the Dems tried to take the whole thing on at once.

Ignoring the Economy: While people want true health care reform, most want the Fed Gov focused on jobs and the economy right now morese than health care.

Downplaying Townhall Anger: Trivialising the Townhall meetings and opposition to the proposed health care plans was one of the worst things the Left could have done.

Evil Insurance Companies: Remember when Queen Nan called the insurance companies "evil"? Then they produce a bill mandadting we all buy our insurance from them. Uh...yea, Nan. The marijuana crops in No-Cal must be potent this year.

Ignoring the Economy: People still want the Fed Gov to focus on jobs and the economy moreso than health care.

Buyoffs for Votes: Nebraska and Louisiana deals pissed the People off and the Left said sit back and shut up. I'd rather have a bridge to nowhere. At lest then I know where I am headed.

Broken Promises of Transparency: A total of 1 hour of health care debate was televised on C-Span in spite of Obama promising no less than 8 times they would be televised.

Shutting Out the Opposition: Shutting out Republicans at every front on the health care bill did not display the bi-partisanship the People want and expected.

Ignoring the Economy: People STILL want the Fed Gov focused on jobs and the economy.

Backroom Deals: Deals conducted behind closed doors, including cutting special breaks for Unions did not go over well with the People.

Sit Back and Shut Up: This has pretty much beent he mentality of the Dems for the entire process on health care and it isn't going over well.

Oh Yea! The Economy!!!: Did I mention people want the Fed Gov focused on jobs and the economy more than health care???

This.

The buyoffs were the most blatant display of crooked activity I have seen in a long time.

When the idiot from Neb. got bought off, it was on every network and radio talk show. It pissed a lot of people off, even in his own state.

It's real simple:

Well I think people see through his BS on this because he isn't acting as he campaigned (I know, shocker. A politician lying)

Obama and the Dems could easily have gotten bipartisan support on a number of pieces of legistlation that would not be 2000 pages in length and entail $1 trillion in spending. The could go on the airwaves and tout that they are the party that gets things accomplished WITH bipartisan support (something which seems to appeal to people for some reason).

Now the Republicans could have played the obstructionist in all this....

Wait, they couldn't. THEY DIDN"T HAVE THE VOTES!!!!

In the end, this was a MAJOR fail on the leadership of Obama, Ried and Pelosi. The left can talk all they want about Republican ostructionism, but it had no teeth. It was in-fighting and major over-reach that doomed this legistlation.

Even small incremental changes in the direction they wanted to go probably would have gone under the radar and today they would still have a super-majority. Idiots. Thank God.

Yes, we still have a " We The People " type of control with the crooks in Capital Hill.

Thank You Massachusetts for speaking up for the anger of the whole nation.

Maybe Obo will reprogram his Obots and his political machine and become a bipartisan run government?

Maybe ?

The mistake in the Healthcare bills were that Healthcare Reform is not the reason or accomplishment for either of the proposed bills. It was simply for the government to get a piece of the Health Insurance Pie, and simply to have an additional control over the people. If you take a look at what they wanted to do, it never had anything to do with making Healthcare better; it really didn't have anything to do with getting everyone Healthcare coverage, it was simply to get more money and power because that is all the current healthcare legislations would have accomplished.

75% of people are happy with their healthcare, 90% have healthcare. In elections Dems always pit the halves against the halve nots. Can't do it when 90% of the AMerican people are in the halves column....

I agree. Obama's big mistake is that he tried to implement too much socialism too fast. If he'd have thought to take it slowly, he might have had a lot of success. He kind of traps himself with his "now is the time to act" rhetoric.

I think that could possibly be the muppets behind the puppet. I wonder if Rahm and Axlerod are guilty of giving him bad advice. At least I would hope so. I still am hoping Obama isn't the elitist egomaniac he has appeared to be his first year.
