Obama's Base Welcomes More Handouts

Obama worshiper DeCarlo Flythe welcomes the passage of ObamaCare, because Santa Claus is going to pay his medical bills.

"It's just going to be like Christmas," said DeCarlo Flythe, who lost health coverage for his family when he was laid off almost three years ago. "It's going to be great. You know, no worries (about) the bills. We are going to go ahead and pay our co-pay and be alright."

DeCarlo follows in the noble tradition of progressive leftists eager for other people to be robbed to pay their bills for them.

Two Twitter users are learning the hard way that threats against the President of the United States are taken very seriously, even when they’re just a tweet.


With intense debate swirling around last night’s health care reform vote, @THHEE_JAY and @Solly_Forrel expressed their frustration with the president by publishing tweets reading “ASSASSINATION! America, we survived the Assassinations and Lincoln & Kennedy. We’ll surely get over a bullet to Barrack Obama’s head” and “You Should be Assassinated!! @Barack Obama.”


Now, the Secret Service is investigating, as they do with all perceived threats against the president. ABC News notes that the two users both tried to backtrack from their statements, and at least one of the accounts (@THHEE_JAY) appears to be offline as of Monday evening.
This isn’t the first time social media activity has caught the attention of the Secret Service. Last year, a teen created a Facebook poll asking “Should Obama be killed?” Ultimately, charges weren’t filed after the perpetrator’s identity was discovered, and it seems likely that the suspects in this case had no formal plans or means to try and assassinate the president.


Nonetheless, it’s another reminder that what’s said in social media carries just as much weight as what’s said using other forms of communication. Apparently, some users still need to figure that out — and more of them will, as law enforcement continues to leverage social media in their crime-fighting efforts.

I know I'm just sick about the idea of his family getting the health care they need.

On a side note, I am tired of all those other mother ****ers using up my insurance money. I pay good money to have the opportunity to use my insurance once I do get sick, which I haven't and have made no large claims. Fortunately for me I take care of my body, unlike the majority of fat ****s and stupid pricks covered by my insurance company. Those dumb fat ****s keep getting sick and/or hurt and run my costs up, all the while I sit here paying my bills and staying healthy. Sure, I guess I get to take advantage of my somewhat cheap copay and cheaper pills (sometimes), but they get to live up their lives irresponsibly. I have to pay for their stomach bands! Stop eating the cheeseburger!!! I am ****ing tired of giving hand outs to these freeloaders. Sure, they pay their part too, but they at least they get to use it... private health care, a glorified tax.

Yesterday I read website after website, blog after blog, saw interview after interview, listened to republican after republican on TV confidently predicting with anger that they will "repeal and replace" this bill with their plan.

Yeah, right. These are either politicians cynically calculating the message that would most likely encourage campaign donations right now, or they are far-right crazy people who actually believe this.

This bill will never be repealed. There's just no way, not gonna happen. They were very clever when they wrote this, all the "sad stories", kids who have diabetes and cant get coverage, people who just lost their job and cant get insurance, etc, those people are going to get health coverage pretty quickly, certainly close to or before the 2012 election.

Forget 2010, there is no way in hell the GOP gets 67% of congress. I don't know if any party has ever achieved that in modern times. Even then, I doubt they would be unanimous in voting to repeal anyway.

In 2012, who is going to campaign on taking insurance away from sick kids and poor people? Not gonna happen, and if its not gonna happen, then there is no way to significantly reduce the number of people who are covered. If there's no way to reduce the number of sick people covered, then a mandate has to happen or the insurance companies go bankrupt and we are forced to go to single-payer anyway.

Aside from that, despite Obama's approval ratings (2 years out, which is forever), the GOP does not have a strong candidate, at all. This could be 2004 all over again where a pathetic Bush campaign should have lost, except the Democrats did not have a good candidate. So, we probably are looking at 2016, and by then this is pretty much ingrained in the public mind as a right.

The game is over, these crazy people yelling about "repeal" are out of their minds. All thats left is small tweaks to the funding, maybe some ways to figure out how to reduce the costs, etc.

Unless healthcare collapses on itself, which right now with so many unknowns is a possibility. Basic systems logic, this bill increases input inot the system, however this bill does not increase the bandwidth of the system, ergo you'll have a massive bottleneck.

"collapse on itself" is like 2020 or so, at the soonest. Probably more like 2025-2030. The tax increase is plenty big enough to sustain this for 10+ years.

By then, the answer to any big problems, assuming we cant figure out a way to cut costs (maybe limit coverage for the little stuff that really shouldnt be insured?) is "raise taxes" because people will ask for this to be repealed right after they volunteer to give back their social security.

As for "doctor shortage", that problem is not going to be big enough to matter. Our doctors per capita is similar to most of the rest of the industrial world.

A. Loved Fannie Mae, Freddie Mac guaranteeing mortgage loans for anybody who could fog a mirror
B. The federal government guaranteeing to make college affordable
C. The federal government breaking up the Ma Bell "monopoly" to make phone service "affordable"
