The MIA Heat Show Thread

LA will be dethroned. The LAC Lake Show will be dead. So it's time to create a thread to follow the new dynasty.

Going on tour starting this October.

Just add the role players and the team is good to go. The Heat have a qualifying offer for Joel Anthony. Players will come to Miami and this team is gonna be ready to go starting now.

Ray Allen
Kevin Garnett
Glen Davis
paul Pierce
Rondo
Rasheed

and that wasnt good enough to beat LA

the Heat still have a ways to go, but I think they have the ownership and front office to make it happen if they continue to think "outside the box"

Wade Bron and Bosh is a good start, but that is IT right now, nothing more than a good start.

Hey, thank God for 'em, though. As painful as being a Chiefs fan is, at least we're not from Cleveland.

You can think what you want, but I don't really care. I grew up with the Marlins. Went to WS games 6&6 in 1997. Went to a lot of games as a kid. Still like to see them do well, but I now live in Tampa (moved 3 years ago) and they have a team here that I can support. The teams are in different conferences, and the Rays are a fun team to follow with good ownership (which the Marlins have never had).

Heat maneuvering could net Mike Miller, keep Haslem

By Ira Winderman South Florida Sun Sentinel

3:56 p.m. EDT, July 9, 2010

In a potentially significant turn of events, the Miami Heat is attempting to work out a sign-and-trade agreement with the Cleveland Cavaliers for free-agent forward LeBron James, who already has agreed to join the Heat

Should the Heat be able to pull off the maneuver, it could possibly give Heat President Pat Riley the flexibility to re-sign a remaining current Heat free agent, such, as Udonis Haslem, Dorell Wright or Quentin Richardson.

No matter the approach, James is locked into a Heat future.

In addition, such a maneuver would allow the Heat to complete its planned signing of Washington Wizards free-agent swingman Mike Miller.

In essence, the Heat is completing its end game.

The Heat is expected to sign Miller, the former University of Florida standout, to a contract in the five-year, $30 million range.

The Heat also is finishing off a sign-and-trade agreement with the Toronto Raptors that will allow recently acquired power forward Chris Bosh to receive a six-year free-agent contract instead of the maximum five-year contract an outside free agent can receive. The Raptors, in turn, will receive a package of draft picks from the Heat and a trade exception of roughly $16 million.

With a sign-and-trade with Cleveland, James also could receive a six-year package, instead of the maximum five-year deal an outside free agent could receive. The Cavaliers also would receive a $16 million trade exception.

Such an arrangement would allow Bosh, James and re-signed Heat free-agent guard Dwyane Wade to each receive similar six-year, $125 million contracts starting at the league maximum of $16.6 million for next season.

The Heat still is addressing the possibility of retaining Haslem, the free-agent power forward. However, under its current salary structure, the Heat only could offer Haslem a veteran-minimum 2010-11 contract of $1.1 million. The Heat then could make up the money to Haslem in 2011-12 and beyond.

However, if both Bosh and James are acquired by sign-and-trade agreements, then it could create wiggle room for a Haslem return, albeit not anywhere close to his $7.1 million 2009-10 salary.

Haslem has had contact with several teams, with the Utah Jazz emerging as a suitor in the wake of losing free-agent power forward Carlos Boozer to the Chicago Bulls.

The Orlando Sentinel also reporting that Orlando Magic free-agent forward Matt Barnes said he has been in contact with the Heat. Barnes earned $1.6 million last season, opting out of the $1.6 million he otherwise would have earned this coming season.

Ira Winderman can be reached at iwinderman@SunSentinel.com.

Lebron is better than anyone BOS has
DWade is better than anyone BOS has
CBosh would prob be the 2nd best player on that BOS team.

You're talking about 3 starters on the Olympic team all playing together in MIA.

LA's days are numbered folks. And once Phil leaves and retires....Kobe won't be winning anymore while these younger kids run the show in South Beach.
