it is 3-1 now, What I am failing to understand (beyond the injured players) is why the trade deadline is 1 week away from the end of the season. Shouldn't it have been done at like week 6 or something so that this issue couldn't pop up here at the end?
I am second to last place, would it be right for me to trade away decent players to a playoff type team with 1 week away that might make them more productive and win the money that is up for placing 1st? |

Our trade deadline is Week 10. That gives everyone a chance to have their players get through the bye weeks.

What is funny is he is doing a poll on it since I protested. All other trades this season, which some have been a little questionable, have mostly involved the commish and have been approved right after being accepted. Here is the trade he just put through last week which also would have voted against but didn't have a chance to do so. This one isn't that lopsided but I hate teams that are out of it trading with playoff teams. There is no real reason to do so other than collude. If this trade is now under vote review then all of the trades he made this season that were immediately approved should have been under vote.
BOWE traded Fred Jackson, Buf to WEAV BOWE traded Heath Miller, Pit to WEAV BOWE traded Patrick Crayton, SD to WEAV WEAV traded Dwayne Bowe, KC to BOWE WEAV traded Zach Miller, Oak to BOWE WEAV traded Pierre Garcon, Ind to BOWE |

JFC.
I vetoed the trade. I have been busy today and didn't have time to **** with this. I agree with you that it wasn't a good trade, and I couldn't see the reason for the 6th place trade to make it, which is why I vetoed it. As far as the trade deadline, that is the standard ESPN deadline. I probably would have changed it if I would have realized it, but since I didn't, and no one else mentioned it either, I just left it on the ESPN default. By the way, the trade that you mentioned in post #5 was a deal that he HAD to make. He had ZERO healthy RBs (Deangelo and Best), and had a lot of receiver depth. I traded Fred Jackson, who has back to back 30 point weeks. He posted on the damn message board that he "desperately needed a RB." Did you send him over an offer? The league is set up, and has been set up the last few years, to not have league votes on trades. I simply don't like teams voting on trades based on what it does to their team, even when they aren't involved. |

MOST leagues have it set to where teams that are mathematically eliminated from playoff contention can no longer propose/accept trades. I'm with everyone else. Bullshit trade.

I never said it was but there was a thread with others hitching about it and there was never a vote. I personally didn't have a problem with the trade but don't think trades should be immediately approved without people getting a chance to look at them. Especially, when they involve the commissioner. Anyway, he made the right call and overturned the bullshit trade so all is forgiven.

Only makes sense if it is a "Keeper League"!! But then again Matthews is looking more like a potatoe chip as time goes on(breaks easily) and Marshall? Where is the QB to throw to him?
Weird trade if it is not a keeper league. |
