Killer apps for Android?

Since there's an iPhone version, I figured I'd start a Droid version. After being handcuffed by Sprint's SERO plan for the past two years, I finally ordered my LG Optimus S last night. It'll be here in about 24 hours. So, what toys should I play with when it arrives?

I like use stuff on it, text, some games, some facebook, a phone call every once in a while, advanced task manager constantly because facebook and photobucket and other stuff I don't use much always has to turn itself on. Terrible things, obviously.

You still haven't answered any questions. What phone do you actually have? What version of Android are you running?


The original Galaxy S has some issues. It uses an RFS filesystem instead of Ext4, which causes a lot of lag, especially after it's been used for awhile. It's also a phone that is almost two years old.

If you're on the Galaxy S II, then you have a different issue.

You're dealing with a phone that is almost two years old, as far as technology goes. It'd be comparable to the iPhone 3GS, although that was more of a high end phone, comparable to the Galaxy S international version.

It's probably running FROYO, and almost certainly RFS, which was a really poor move by Samsung.

iPhone wouldn't have even been an option for you though, given you're CDMA and iPhone wasn't CDMA at that point (and still isn't on your carrier I believe).

I have the Vibrant, which is the tmobile version of your phone. It has a lot of problems... TBH, you're probably just going to have to live with the lag and subpar experience. I don't know what the developer community is like for that phone, but I'd suspect not too strong.
