For those of you going to the game on Sunday: Stadium Drive Opens Temporarily

Drivers will have full access to Stadium Drive between Interstate 435 and Manchester Trafficway during a temporary reopening of the roadway on Sunday, Dec. 5.

This temporary opening will provide access to Arrowhead Stadium for the Kansas City Chiefs noon game against the Denver Broncos. The roadway will close that evening and reopen for full use in mid-December, six months ahead of the planned May 2011 completion date.

"I frequent this route on my way to the Chiefs games," said 3rd District Councilwoman at large Melba Curls. "I am so excited that this 3rd district project will be coming to a conclusion six months ahead of schedule."

Construction on the Stadium Drive improvements began in May. The project, which is being managed by the City's Capital Projects Office, includes street, storm water and water main improvements.

"We're glad to open this up for the Chiefs game and that the project will be complete six months ahead of schedule," said 3rd District Councilwoman Sharon Sanders Brooks. "We are pleased that another 3rd District roadway improvement has been completed."

Well that's good, I was planning on coming in that way and I had no idea it was under construction.
