It's time to get rid of the old Craftsman table saws and pick up a new jobsite saw.

If anyone has had experience with the tablesaws listed below, please let me know your pros/cons.

The Ridgid saw is a very, very good selection. I've had both a previous version of that Dewalt and the Ridgid. Ridgid all day long. The Bosch is also a quality tool but I don't think there's anything that really sets it apart from the Ridgid to justify the extra 10% cost.

I don't have a Table saw but if I we're to choose one of those I'd go with Dewalt. I do have a 12" Dewalt miter saw and it does a wonderful job of making big pieces of wood in to smaller pieces.

To be honest I have been leaning toward the Ridgid. It felt solid, the fence was smooth as butter and solid as a rock. The bevel dial/wheel gave me a chubby. The lifetime warranty helps, too.


I have used the Dewalt 744 and 745's at the jobsite to give them a test and I was impressed, but I was worried about transporting it. The fence looks like it would get destroyed while moving between jobsites. The owners (contractors) said that the rack and pinion had to be realigned often and the dust jammed up the inner workings quite a bit.


Bosch just makes good tools. According to the online reviews the Ridgid is a near clone to the Bosch for $50 less. I wish the Ridgid came with the gravity rise stand (even though the Ridgid has a decent stand already).

My 12" Dewalt Miter owns my 12" Ridgid. The Ridgid feels heavier/stronger, but the angle adjustment lock doesn't work very well. The Dewalt locks in rock-solid every time.

Yeah, I'd go Dewalt miter over Ridgid all day long.... unless I weren't a Makita miter saw fan. But table saws are different.

Hey, I think the latest version of the Ridgid saw does have that gravity stand thing - maybe. But, the old stand on my saw has been spectacular for 5 years so who needs a gravity option?

I'd sure take that into consideration then. In your business you need the cuts precise. So I'm changing my mind back to Dewalt.
