Arizona congresswoman Gabrielle Giffords shot at public event
Giffords shot at meet n greet in front of a tucson safeway. Early reports 12 wounded. 4 confirmed dead, early reports say giffords was shot in the head. 3 of her staff are also wounded. No report from the hospital on giffords.

For my part, I'm not really concerned about words that might be speculated to contribute to any violent attack. Short of someone offering a reward or words of that nature, I'd think long and hard before blaming a speaker for causing another person to act violently.

I'm going to have to disagree with you on this one. I don't think that this would have been an appropriate time for the president to try to make the speech into a personal confession and plea for absolution. In fact, I think that he would have been widely criticized for shallowly turning the focus on himself.

You must have misunderstood my response because the distinction is dramatic. In one case, we have people blaming the words of people like Palin for the actions of some random nutcase. In the other case, I'm suggesting that maybe the fear for Palin's safety comes from the recognition that random nutcases are saying some pretty vitriolic things and the nuttiest among them might act on their own words.

Just a few things I can recall: (paraphraisng here)

Obama called the one Police Dept. STUPID

Obama during a fundraising event in California was caught talking about the bitter people who cling to guns.

Obama just a few months ago said in a campaign speech that they could ride the same bus, as long as they sat in the "BACK of the BUS"


On how many occassions has the SEIU been very uncivil on purpose taking busses to peoples homes or offices and creating near riot conditions all for the sake of promoting Obama and the Liberal Jive ?


Obama didn't apologize for what Liberals have said and done.

Obama didn't apologize for what his pastor Rev. Wright has said.

Obama didn't apologize for his friend Biill Ayers blowing up police stations
and KILLING and injurying in the police officers.

Obama didn't apologize for what "The Dailey Kos" blogs on a dailey basis.



Obama didn't apologize at all even after all of the uncivil crap that his party and sheep have done in supporting the left and his agenda.
