Which AFC play-off teams improved/declined the most?

I was thinking about which teams, who are KC's direct competition, have improved or declined.

I think Houston is probably the most improved...Clowney was coming on late last year and obviously signing Osweiler. They added some WR/RB help too..

Cincinnati lost Hue and some WRs...but they looked polished in the preseason game I saw. This is the AFC team I worry about...very balanced roster.

Steelers lost Heath and his replacement, their #2 WR is suspended for year and Dupree just went on IR. I think the team is a bit over-hyped due to Bell/Brown. Their defense isnt very good...

Denver obviously took the biggest hit...dont really need to detail that.

Patriots are the Patriots...hard team to judge when they plug-n-play cast-offs yet are always the team to beat.

KC lost S.Smith, Branch, Abdullah and Mauga. ..added Schwartz and Charles. Drafted a potential star in Jones. Houston out for 8 games (at least).

The Steelers also downgraded at LT. Going to be hard to keep Big Ben healthy.

The Bengals lost their #2 and #3 WR's. They also lost Reggie Nelson and their 1st round pick at corner. Eifert is out for the first few weeks.

The Pats lost Chandler Jones, which I think will hurt their defense.

Heath was his safety valve...I cant remember seeing him drop many passes. I think losing him and then Green on PUP is going hurt them. I dont think Haley is all the great either...they miss LeBeau. Speaking of...the Titans looked good in preseason..

Of course...just speculating. I was also pointing out that every teams has its warts and injuries.

KC fans seem to have tunnel-vision when it comes to looking at other teams. When something happens to the Chiefs, its devastating...but other teams will be just fine. The Steelers losing Heath, Dupree, Green and Bryant is not good...

Based on pre-season, I'd say Chiefs are up there. I'm real confident about this season.

Make CP great again.

I don't necessarily think losing Manning was a bad thing for Denver. I think they'll be similar, strong D, not the best O.

He was still their leader...and instilled confidence. Do you think being down 21-7 against the Pats...Semen will inspire them enough to believe a comeback is possible? I dont... do you think they beat the Chargers in week 17 with Lynch coming off the bench...?

Its telling that many call Steelers, just like I intended to

Until proven otherwise they've lost a certain something, Haley has instilled some real discipline into BR and that offense

But are they still drafting and developing like they used to?

A constant stream of gritty, defensive stalwarts seemingly plucked straight off the vine? That aspect seems to be missing lately, they could easily swoon this year IMO

That D isnt what it used to be

That's right. The Chiefs were a playoff team, weren't they? Good for them, doing the AFC West proud like that.

Nobody is taking the Broncos as a serious play-off contender....had they been blowing teams out last year, it would be a different story. They won 6 games by 3 or less points...11 by 7 or less. Had those 6 games gone the other way, which in a 3 point contest is essentially a coin-toss...they would have ended up 6-10. It took a historic amount of luck to win that many close games....which is why it's never happened in the history of the NFL. Expecting to duplicate that outcome is like planning on winning the lottery twice...

They have a 7th round rookie starting....that has never played in a real game.

Sorry...luck doesn't translate as dominance. They weren't even close to the 2000 Ravens...but their fans like to pretend they were.
