I had backed off on my Cassel hate in the second half of the season because he actually started to play with a modicum of competence. But I never stopped being wary of him, because he was playing well against shitty, shitty ****ing teams.

But today is proof positive that Cassel is NOT the answer. He will NOT be a franchise quarterback. He simply doesn't have the ability or the intelligence that is required. He never really progressed this season; he just managed to not shit himself against the NFC West.

Can we all just agree that he's not the answer? Please?

Biggest thing that stands out to me in the 1st 2 games is our lack of a consistent running game.

We are not running it well and Cassel is being utterly exposed.

He converted a couple of third and longs vs Atlanta but tigers don't change their stripes.

The #1 running game isn't here to cover your warts, Matt. Deal with it.

Now it's 14-0 and the D actually got a stop...so let's see what Matt does.

The play before Hillis fumbles, Cassel throws a completely uncatchable fade to Bowe in the left corner.

Maybe if Cassel throws a better pass, Bowe catches it for a TD, and it's 21-7 at the half.

1. Throws it short of the first down marker (4-yard throw)

2. Misses a wide open guy by two yards.

3. Even if Moeaki catches it, he gets tackled short most likely.
