Cassel did, does, and will always suck

I had backed off on my Cassel hate in the second half of the season because he actually started to play with a modicum of competence. But I never stopped being wary of him, because he was playing well against shitty, shitty ****ing teams.

But today is proof positive that Cassel is NOT the answer. He will NOT be a franchise quarterback. He simply doesn't have the ability or the intelligence that is required. He never really progressed this season; he just managed to not shit himself against the NFC West.

Can we all just agree that he's not the answer? Please?

Not sure where I said that.

Point is, he's still VERY young in terms of NFL experience and we've already seen him make a drastic improvement.

I think Pioli is going to ask his father-in-law what he would do and that father-in-law will say "Get rid of that POS QB!" Then Cassel gets traded.

The guy who put up numbers like that has no Super Bowl winning potential, right?

That's Peyton Manning, against Baltimore in game 2 of the 2006 season playoffs, on the way to winning the Super Bowl.

I wouldnt fault MC if he was running for his life, but the OL was OK today. That pick he had when he had ALL ****ING DAY to throw was atrocious.

I thought Matt was past his bed-wetting, but I suppose not.

Well I thought so. I was hoping that the last game against Oakland was just a fluke. Starting to wonder if the drastric improvement was.

This is the reallity for Matt Cassel, he is a back up playing in a starters role. Has good games but not exactly what you want for a franchise QB. Then plays like he did today. Good grief!

I tryied to like him, he is a retread QB just like we've had during the Carl Peterless era. Pleaze God let us draft a QBotf.

Next year what are we suppose to expect from Cassel? More excuses, OL, Wrs? I do expect him to play like he gets $63,000,000 for a franchise QB. Don't think that is too much to ask.

Pleaze let us draft a QBotf and let the best guy win the job during preseason. If Cassel is worth it he can prove it.
Now Cassel is Huard?
The highlight of his career was an 11 TD season.
In 2010, Cassel threw 6 fewer TD's than Huard threw his ENTIRE career.

Boy I tell ya...

Isn't life a bitch. They won a lot of games and a SB.

I don't see them blaming their qb.

"Even the most familiar player in football, Peyton Manning, could not overcome what his team lacked: reliable receivers he could find consistently and a running game that could bail him out."

But this has been the most unusual season of Manning’s career. Two of his best receivers — Dallas Clark and Austin Collie, who both shredded the Jets in the A.F.C. championship game last season

C'mon. There is absolutely no comparison between Kurt Warner and Matt Cassel in terms of career trajectory at equivalent points in their career. None.

This thread is ultimately about pragmatism. We can stick with Cassel and hope he miraculously evolves into Peyton Manning out of ****ing nowhere, OR we can cut our losses, get rid of Cassel and start developing a young QB who has some of those characteristics.
No, this thread is about you posting bullshit and people responding to it. Even some of the best QBs in history have had off games in the playoffs. I just noted one of Manning's, from his Super Bowl year.

This really is the core of the whole issue. People seem to forget he's not a kid. At a certain point, you've done all the developing and learning you can do. Cassel isn't an ugly duckling. He's an ugly swan.

Huard was by far worse than Cassel. That's still not saying much for Cassel. Maybe that was a bad example but, he get's the excuses just the same. Cassel is a starter wanna be.
