Cassel did, does, and will always suck

I had backed off on my Cassel hate in the second half of the season because he actually started to play with a modicum of competence. But I never stopped being wary of him, because he was playing well against shitty, shitty ****ing teams.

But today is proof positive that Cassel is NOT the answer. He will NOT be a franchise quarterback. He simply doesn't have the ability or the intelligence that is required. He never really progressed this season; he just managed to not shit himself against the NFC West.

Can we all just agree that he's not the answer? Please?

We BETTER be planning for a future without him. If I'm Todd Haley I take a QB in the first round, the later rounds, and maybe I even sign a veteran free agent in the offseason and bring them all to training camp. Cut Palko and Croyle.

Then let Matt Cassel PROVE he gets to keep his job, which is something he's never had to do-- it's always been "I'm going to be replaced by Tom Brady next year anyway" or "I'm the best shit show in this town" throughout his pro career.

I think this season he has earned the right to be initially penciled in as the 2011 starter. But that's about it.

I agree with the OP and always have. I lost faith in Cassel about halfway through this season. He has hot streaks, and does well with talent around him (doesn't everybody), but he's not the answer. We should draft or trade for a young talent, keep Cassel around to show him the ropes from the #2 spot (which is Cassel's best position), and work up.

Or, we could go after Kevin Kolb.

So you would pay Cassels bonus to be a QB coach?

Wow......I'm gonna go out on a limb and guess you're not very intelligent.

You 'lost' faith at the same time when 90% of this board started to find faith? Thats just.....unbelievable.

We better draft A QB. I don't trust Pioli to do the right thing though.

I would prefer if we drafted 2.

I think we will draft one....for sure. I doubt very much it will be in the 1st or 2nd rounds though.

Then I want us to sign a veteran QB in addition.

This game proved that this is no longer Matt Cassel's team, and he needs to understand that. Play better and stop tweaking out in games against tough defenses or go home. He spent a season earning my trust and in one game he lost it all.

He gets one more offseason from me and a few games before I go back to torch-burning psychopath mode and demand that he gets the **** out of KC.

If you take a QB in the 1st round, that is a complete blow to Cassel. That would mean he isn't good enough and the franchise is looking forward to the future.

We ARE looking forward to the future. San Diego looked forward to the future with Brees/Rivers.

If he wants his precious starting job so badly, he can earn it. Only then will he have my support.

If we draft a QB in the first round most likely Cassel was either released or traded. In either case I dont give a **** about his feelings.

Sorry but I disagree now Cassel is no Manning or Brady, but HE CLEARY IS NOT TERRIBLE. Look at what happens to our team when Brodie was playing we fell to shit. Cassel is a game manager not an MVP he does his job and he did his job well enough to get us into the playoffs.

Brodie didn't receive the same protection Cassel did today while putting up similarily terrible numbers. You're not making a strong case for Cassel.
