Cassel did, does, and will always suck

I had backed off on my Cassel hate in the second half of the season because he actually started to play with a modicum of competence. But I never stopped being wary of him, because he was playing well against shitty, shitty ****ing teams.

But today is proof positive that Cassel is NOT the answer. He will NOT be a franchise quarterback. He simply doesn't have the ability or the intelligence that is required. He never really progressed this season; he just managed to not shit himself against the NFC West.

Can we all just agree that he's not the answer? Please?

The problem is Cassel didn't even play average he played ****ing horrible
The Chiefs were outclassed all around. The team is not ready for "prime time". Cassel was not the sole problem. When the defense covered the receivers and he had noplace to go what else would you expect? PFM? That wasn't something that was typically around with the Chiefs this year.

Given some additions during the off season the Chiefs will be better next year, I'd say they will be in the playoffs again next year and possibly for the next 3.

If you want to see horrible, how about the lack of protection for Cassel? How about the WR's that didn't get separation?

Like I said, it was a team effort - or lack thereof.

Too bad you can't add a poll inside of someone else's thread.

I'd like to ask of all the guys damning the Chiefs, and Cassel, if they have selected another team to be their favorite.

It wouldn't surprise me if Gabbert was as strong, or stronger in the weight room than Roethlisberger. He's built like a brick shithouse. It's that weird forearm and handgrip strength that I was referring to (somewhat inarticulately).
I wonder if this has less to do with strength and more to do with unusual hand size, even for a freakishly large mother****er like Big Ben?

I've heard NBA analysts make similar comments about certain guards, for example. Larger hands than the average tall dude.

I'm not calling for him to be replaced starting next season or anything like that.

I just hope that Scott & company realize that if they eventually want a franchise QB, they're going to have to show the balls to go draft one someday.

Otherwise, playoff appearances mixed in with an occasional win is about as far as they'll ever get with Cassel at the helm.

Roethlisberger has the arm strength of Marino the hands of Rondo and the sexual judgment of Tyson.

We can't win a SB with Matt Cassel at QB. And that's why he's the problem.
Oh yes you can.

The Baltimore Ravens and Chicago Bears prove you wrong.
Trent Dilfer and Jim McMahon. Cassel is just as good if not better than those two.

My point is, you and many other people put way too much emphasis at the quarterback position. Don't get me wrong its part of it. But Lets not forget that this is a team sport okay. Chiefs have got a lot more problems than just Cassel.

First of all I am really pissed we have to have this thread today in the first place. I was so ready to come home from the game and have I am ready to eat crow and suck Cassel off thread.

Well we should have drafted Sanchez but thats beside the point now. We are tied to Cassel, so we just got to build the most dominate team we can to make up for what he is lacking.

Different era.

They let the defenses rape the WR's back then. The league has changed a LOT since those guys did their thing.
