Cassel did, does, and will always suck

I had backed off on my Cassel hate in the second half of the season because he actually started to play with a modicum of competence. But I never stopped being wary of him, because he was playing well against shitty, shitty ****ing teams.

But today is proof positive that Cassel is NOT the answer. He will NOT be a franchise quarterback. He simply doesn't have the ability or the intelligence that is required. He never really progressed this season; he just managed to not shit himself against the NFC West.

Can we all just agree that he's not the answer? Please?

JPB, it is easy for you to say what you are saying since you have Bill as a HC and Brady as your QB.

You guys wouldn't have multi SB champs unless Brady was your QB.

Manning has 7 one-and-done playoff appearances in his career. Brees has made the playoffs four times, and has 2 one-and-done years in that four. Rivers has gone one-and-done twice in four playoff seasons. Eli's gone one-and-done 3 times out of 4. JFC, get over the QB complaining already.
You know what the difference is? Those guys carried their teams to the playoffs. They weren't carried there.

It's not that it's easy. It's that this organization hasn't even tried, at least not since 1983. And I don't give a shit if fans of other teams, particularly those who actually have franchise QBs, don't understand the frustration.

If the Chiefs can pitch four shutouts and hold eight other teams to 10 points or fewer (including two playoff games and the Super Bowl), maybe Cassel can be our quarterback.

And how many of those teams even made it to a conference championship again with those QBs?

0.

The goal isn't to have a fluke SB appearance and get your ass handed to you, a la the 2002 Raiders, 2006 Bears, 2005 Seahawks, etc, it's to build a team that can compete year in, year out.

You can't do that without a QB.

I care to wager that most QBs that made the SB by in large are in the HOF, or waiting for their bust. Like Marino, Tarkenton, Kelly ect....

That's absolutely correct, but 31 teams in the NFL don't have a QB as good as Brady, despite all the many quarterbacks brought in every year. That's the whole point. Again, there are only 2 quarterbacks with multiple SB wins in the 2000s. 30 teams don't have that. It's not just the Chiefs.

Of the modern era QBs (1960s to present), Warren Moon & Dan Fouts I beleive are the only Hall of Fame QBs not to play in a Super Bowl.

You are telling me that I shouldn't disagree?

Who gives a **** about MAKING the SB. I want my team to win the ****ing thing.

Besides, using your math that makes 1 out of 10 starting QB's that aren't studs that actually won the whole thing.

I'm done.

What's easier?

Building a legendary all-time great defense that takes over games and holds teams in the playoffs to under two touchdowns every time so the offense can pull off just enough to squeak by?

OR

Finding a guy as good as even a Matt Hasselbeck to make crisp throws and be gutsy and a leader when a team most needs it in the playoffs

If you guys can't see the potential in a QB who just went 19.1 and 20.4, you don't know much about football or its history. /Pats fans

Obviously.

I am not a Runner-Up type of guy. I witnessed what 4 SB losses did to my brother (Bills fan). I would rather not make it at all then go through that .
