Cassel did, does, and will always suck

I had backed off on my Cassel hate in the second half of the season because he actually started to play with a modicum of competence. But I never stopped being wary of him, because he was playing well against shitty, shitty ****ing teams.

But today is proof positive that Cassel is NOT the answer. He will NOT be a franchise quarterback. He simply doesn't have the ability or the intelligence that is required. He never really progressed this season; he just managed to not shit himself against the NFC West.

Can we all just agree that he's not the answer? Please?

And the Ravens pass rush was relentless.

In any case, he did not look bad, at least not in my eyes. We'll see how he looks playing into the 2nd half against the Rams next week.
I'm watching my recording of the game now, and overall, I thought Cassel looked okay, but his footwork is still off, having to reset his feet when he sets up in the pocket.

On the slants, hen he has to get the ball out as soon as his back foot hits, his feet are not ready.

When/if he gets his dropback mechanics right, those passes should have a little better zip, which should eliminate the near interception he threw on his second slant attempt.

The first one was a clear (missed) interference on Williams.

I only watched the first drive last night due to other things I had going on, but Cassel looked alright. Like milk said, he struggles with footwork. Other than that it was a decent drive got some points out of it at least.

He was a solid contributor in a bunch of them, but he never carried us.

Sanchez, as bad a completion % and as many bad picks as he has, in big spots he can sometimes step up and make a big throw. Thats all we need. Believe me I hear enough about ****ing Sanchez from all these damn Jets fans who think 2 AFC Championships matches the Patriots runs.
Sanchez can get away with having a bad completion % or making bad picks because he has the defense to bail him out. Chiefs don't have the same level of defense as the Jets.

Besides, I don't know about you, but I want my quarterback to make the big throws on a consistent basis.

Yeah Sanchez can make the occasional big throw, but honestly how far does that get you?

Is it good enough to win a championship? I don't think so. I like a quarterback that can always come through and deliver in the clutch.

I'm not a fan of Sanchez. If it weren't for him they'd have at least one Super Bowl appearance by now. The Jets have a lot of talent and good coaching, thankfully they'll never be a threat because of their QB. You could say the same for us too though. It just reiterates what we already know...it's a QB league. If you don't have a franchise QB, you're just playing to play, while the teams that do have them are playing to win Super Bowls.

He has been the reason they win in the playoffs. He has stepped his game up then. Granted during the regular season he has looked like a young QB will. Great at times, down right horrible at others.

No, their defense is the reason they have won in the playoffs. Don't get it twisted.

Nope.

If they drafted Freeman instead of Sanchez, they would have been in the Super Bowl last season or the season before.

I don't know about this. Freeman was pretty impressive last season, but definitely not in the very good or great category.

Sanchez is what he is right now.

A guy that is supremely average in the regular season; and allows his defense and running game to carry him into the post season. Then something clicks and he becomes a competent QB. He becomes a gamer. Which is something he primarily is not during the regular season. It's great that he can turn it on at the most important time of year, but concerning that he's just a middle of the pack 15-20 type QB during the bulk of his playing time.

Until the AFC title game where he craps his pants and comes back to earth again.
