Cassel did, does, and will always suck

I had backed off on my Cassel hate in the second half of the season because he actually started to play with a modicum of competence. But I never stopped being wary of him, because he was playing well against shitty, shitty ****ing teams.

But today is proof positive that Cassel is NOT the answer. He will NOT be a franchise quarterback. He simply doesn't have the ability or the intelligence that is required. He never really progressed this season; he just managed to not shit himself against the NFC West.

Can we all just agree that he's not the answer? Please?

A guy that is supremely average in the regular season; and allows his defense and running game to carry him into the post season. Then something clicks and he becomes a competent QB. He becomes a gamer. Which is something he primarily is not during the regular season. It's great that he can turn it on at the most important time of year, but concerning that he's just a middle of the pack 15-20 type QB during the bulk of his playing time.
This.

Stepping up in the playoffs is great, but a true good QB shouldn't be that average in the regular season. I'd rather have a consistently good QB.

So sad that we are sitting here looking for a glimmer of hope in our "franchise" quarterback. Guys just hoping to be proved wrong, hoping to find a glimmer of hope that this guy who we've passed up extraordinary potential draft quarterbacks for will just be okay. Sad.

I'm glad we have this thread.

Can it be the official "Cassell Sucks" Repository thread for the season? Would go a long way to keeping the board from having a million of these threads on the front page after we lose game 1.

I am not a Cassel fan, and though I won't delve any further into the Sanchez debate, I wanted to draft him.

But please, list all these "extraordinary potential draft quarterbacks" we passed up.

Yeah Sanchez can make the occasional big throw, but honestly how far does that get you?

Is it good enough to win a championship? I don't think so. I like a quarterback that can always come through and deliver in the clutch.
I agree. If you put Sanchez on a team like....HOU or TB or SEA, its not like they are going to the Championship Game. He probably will never be better than a top 15-20 QB, and the Jets are always going to need that top D around him.

Don't sell him short. Cassel craps his pants way before Sanchez even thinks about it.

Um, I think he is talking about since we aquired Cassel...

And if we drafted Brady that late and started him, this fanbase would of melted down...

So dont bring that garbage here...

1. I didn't realize we were only going back to Cassel's acquisition. For me, the QB problem predates Cassel and Pioli by quite a few years.

2. As to Brady, I doubt there would have been many complaints if he somehow played as well here as he has in NE.

3. Don't tell me what to post.

1. I completely understand what your saying and from your view point.. Hope you see mine as well.

2. Brady was an unknown, you know this board and fanbase... This place would of looked like Berlin after a WWII bombing run.

3. (kidding)
