Cassel did, does, and will always suck
I had backed off on my Cassel hate in the second half of the season because he actually started to play with a modicum of competence. But I never stopped being wary of him, because he was playing well against shitty, shitty ****ing teams.

But today is proof positive that Cassel is NOT the answer. He will NOT be a franchise quarterback. He simply doesn't have the ability or the intelligence that is required. He never really progressed this season; he just managed to not shit himself against the NFC West.

Can we all just agree that he's not the answer? Please?

How about this:

Matt Cassel has TEN games in his tenure here where he's thrown for LESS than 150 yards, including the Denver game in which he was injured. (I was nice and set the bar at 150, since he's got several games where he threw for between 150 and 175 too.)

The rifle-armed CHAD PENNINGTON also had 10, including 4 games that he did not finish due to injury.

(I won't mention that Pennington has started about twice as many games as Cassel.)

What's really sad is that I didn't compare attempts.

As a full-time starter, Pennington's YPA number is almost a FULL YARD higher than Cassel's...

IMO, Cassel's durability will go out the window because of the hits he's taking because of holding the ball too long. It will finally catch up to the 30 year old turd of a QB.
