Off Season Lets Talk Guns

Been a while since we had a guns n' ammo discussion.

Some of you are AR shooters Im sure. Im looking at a Colt 6920. Will be my first AR. Picked up a Glock this fall and really enjoy shooting it. Any feedback on that weapon?

Anyone else been in a buy/sell/trade mood with hardware?

I would assume OK will let a CCW carry any handgun as long as it isn't stolen.

I found a great website that breaks down individual state laws, what transfers, etc. Let me see if I can dig it up.

you got me thinking.....if I sold you my gun (never sold one of mine to anybody before) say at a garage sale or something....how do we let the powers that be know that it's yours now and not mine? is there a form to submit to big brother or what?

Nope. Unless you purchased the gun with the intent to sell it, and/or carry an FFL.

Here is a good thread discussing it:

I have been pulled over for speeding since I've had my CCW and nothing was said about it. I didn't offer the info and he didn't mention it. I assume it just depends what kind of computer they have in the car?? or maybe HOW they look you up?? I'd assume if the wanted to they could find out. both hands on the wheel yall!
You actually should tell them your a ccw, especially if you are carrying, but if the stop is just minor traffic and the gun isn't visible in your waist band when you lean to the glovebox and your not in a backwoods jurisdiction, you should be ok. Didn't they cover this in your ccw class?

In NC all they check on a gun is if it's stolen or not not who is the owner of it.

Same way here. Ive only ran across a few ccw holders. They always tell me and I immediately start talking guns with them. I think its a ploy to get me to forget why I stopped them.

I love my Glock 20, 10mm. I can drive nails with that thing. What don't you like about your .45?

So I fired that PF9 today. Holy smokes. I've shot .45s with less recoil. LOL I need to find a way to soften the grip. Wife fired 4 rounds and said she was done.

We are required to tell we have a ccw as soon as the cop gets close enough to the car to hear.

Kinda dumb here since my ccw permit number is the same as my drivers license number and if the car is registered in my name I am sure they know I have a ccw....

Probably just trying to catch me forgetting so they can take it away from me.

Yeah. Usually they just hand me their DL and ccw instead of telling me.

They can take it away for that?

In Kansas, we don't have to tell the Police Officer, but if they ask it's a definate "Yes Sir".

We have a couple police officers here. What is your honest opinion about some "interesting" people getting their CCW?

It scared the hell out of me when I saw and heard some of the people in my class. There were some world-class idiots that I wouldn't trust with a potato gun.
