Off Season Lets Talk Guns

Been a while since we had a guns n' ammo discussion.

Some of you are AR shooters Im sure. Im looking at a Colt 6920. Will be my first AR. Picked up a Glock this fall and really enjoy shooting it. Any feedback on that weapon?

Anyone else been in a buy/sell/trade mood with hardware?

stupid crap like this in our country is pissing me off. I bet there is a way to print your picture on some sort of lament paper through your own printer and stick it to the front of your new card company's card without even asking for approval. the numbers have to be viewable and the swipe strip un incumbered, but I bet there is a way.

I think this is one of these situations where Craigslist, an estate sale or the paper could come into play. I'm in no big hurry, so I think I'll continue to look for something used. If I get a top notch safe for half price, I could care less if it has a scratch or two on it.

Picked this up for my son for an all around hunting shotgun...

Academy has it for $180.. Not bad for a gun you can drag through hell and not worry about it.

The Mossberg® Maverick® 88 12 Gauge All-Purpose Pump-Action Shotgun features dual extractors, twin action bars, positive steel-to-steel lockup and an antijam elevator for smooth, reliable performance that won't let you down. The shotgun features a black synthetic stock and forearm for durability and a 6-round magazine capacity with 2-3/4" shells and a 5-round capacity with 3" shells. Bead sights help promote accurate aiming, and only 1 pin needs to be removed to field strip for easy maintenance.

KSG

The KSG (Kel-Tec Shotgun) is Kel-Tec CNC’s first entry into the shotgun market. The size, shape, and design is similar to the currently available Kel-Tec RFB rifle, but the KSG ejects downward, instead of forward. The KSG weighs 6.9 lbs. and is as compact as legally possible with a 26.1” overall length and an 18.5” cylinder bore barrel. Even with this compact size, the internal dual tube magazines hold an impressive 12 rounds of 12 gauge 3” rounds in total (6 per tube). It can also reliably shoot shells as short as 1 3/4" up to the 3".

Kel-Tech must operate out of storage unit somewhere. I think they make about five of these things a month. I was talking to a guy at the local gun store, which is one of the largest in the state - he said he can remember getting three or four in over the past couple of years.

I'd love to get one of the KSGs, however I can wait. I could easily see the atf pulling some bullshit on that like they did on the street sweepers too.

I wouldn't doubt it. It seems everyone with a garage and a couple tools started making guns the past 5-10 years.

Thinking of buying a complete Colt LE6920 upper receiver to put on my bushmaster lower.

I've been looking at a few sites such as Gunbroker.com and ARMSLIST but was wondering if anyone knew of any other places I should try looking.

Also, any opinions of putting a colt upper on a bushmaster lower are also welcome.

My main objective is to get a flat top rail with detachable handle so that I can mount optics while upgrading to a better bolt carrier group.

Also plan to change out the trigger group as well.

If you can get one with a railed gas block, do it. Install some pop-up sites along with your optics and you are good to go.

What am I saying? If you find any upper for the right price, buy it and figure stuff out later.

I found some 16" barrels on sale earlier today at Palmetto Arms.

M4 style, too, for $179. I would suggest building your upper, but I would be amazed if you can find an upper.

Wow.

My gut tells me that things will be back to normal in 6 months, but if you are freaked you might just pull the trigger.
