Off Season Lets Talk Guns

Been a while since we had a guns n' ammo discussion.

Some of you are AR shooters Im sure. Im looking at a Colt 6920. Will be my first AR. Picked up a Glock this fall and really enjoy shooting it. Any feedback on that weapon?

Anyone else been in a buy/sell/trade mood with hardware?

If you're just going to use it for home defense, I'd say the easiest thing would be to get a 12 gauge pump-action shotgun. Something with a short barrel - http://www.cabelas.com/pump-action-r...otguns-1.shtml

Revolvers are good rookie guns, IMO - easy to operate, no disassembling, you can tell by looking at it if it's loaded. If you're looking for purely home defense, you might to look into the Taurus Judge - five shot revolver that can shoot several different types of rounds, including a .410 shotgun shell.

One of the best things about pump-action shotguns for home defense is that the noise they make when chambering a shell is universal language for "Oh shit, something bad is about to go down"

So Obama apparently didn't include any actual weapons bans in his first round of executive orders - http://www.foxnews.com/politics/2013...violence-plan/

Do you think that if/when the bans and restrictions fail to pass the Senate that he'll do it through executive orders then?

If you are patient, you can get a black, home defense 870 pump shotgun for a little over $300.

Patience is the key.

My lil sister was looking for cheap protection.

This is the High Point 9 my sister has for home defense. Not sure how many rounds she has put through it. I know I put a couple hundred rounds through it when she first bought it
Not a single hick up. Its made in America. Has a life time warranty. Is quite accurate & she paid $145.00 for it in 2009.

I love me some hi-point firearms. Cheap as ****, reliable, and disposable. What's not to love. When they first came out I bought a case of them at $79ea. Make great boat/cabin/truck guns.

Useless waste of money, IMO. Chromed or not, it's going to be problematic running cheap dirty ammo through AR innards. Cheap dirty ammo/reliability are the main selling points for an AK.

No interest here.
