Off Season Lets Talk Guns

Been a while since we had a guns n' ammo discussion.

Some of you are AR shooters Im sure. Im looking at a Colt 6920. Will be my first AR. Picked up a Glock this fall and really enjoy shooting it. Any feedback on that weapon?

Anyone else been in a buy/sell/trade mood with hardware?

1. Only one clip came with it.
2. I don't like how it breaks down. The flip over and pull out pin is shitty. I had a Taurus 45 like that and I easily f'd it up so it doesn't function great. Sent it back to get it fixed but they didn't fix that problem. The small wire that holds the pin is definitely a point of future failure.

you can change the batteries in the laser it looked like when I broke it down. They appeared to be under some electrical tape looking deal that might require an Allen wrench also. The beam has two modes, steady laser or blinking. It's easy to turn on and off wit your trigger finger

nice, I didn't know they made a 40 cal. I have a glock 26 and 27 but that I like very much but are somewhat bulky to put in your shorts. The form factor of this is very nice. The beam is just the icing on the cake. Also this actually has a safety unlike the glocks.

Heh, they don't. I got confused. It wasn't the Bodyguard, it was the M&P Shield. I think the Bodyguard was the one he bought for himself two or three years ago.

Can anyone give me a lead on where I can find this forearm piece?

Thinking I would like to go with this route on my colt instead of the stock setup.

If you're going to upgrade, spend a bit more and go with a free float handguard.

If I'm honest with myself that is the only reason I am thinking about it. I keep seeing them at shows for a few hundred bucks and I think to myself, "Self. That looks like a lot of fun."

Then tactical semi auto shotguns..."Self. Those are lots of fun."

I'm a needy bitch.

Thanks man.

he Magpul MOE Hand Guard for AR15/M16 firearms with carbine-length gas systems combines the light weight of a standard hand guard with modular flexibility. Designed with versatility in mind, slots at the two, six, and ten o'clock positions allow the attachment of optional Picatinny rail sections and other accessories for mounting tactical lights, slings, grips, etc
Sounds like it might be exactly what I am looking for.

This is what I use - Sampson Evolution 11" Comes with custom rails you can attach as needed.

http://www.samson-mfg.com/mm5/mercha...e_Length_Rails

If you go this route, you'll need to replace your gas block as well.

Tricky thing is that I need it to be carbine length.

Really limited on what I can do with the little stubby sumbich.

Mine's a carbine. You can get any length handguard you want if you have a low profile gas block. You can also get a carbine-length free float handguard that would work with your existing gas block. I went with the longer one simply because I preferred the look.

The advantage to a free float handguard is that it doesn't come in contact with the barrel at all. Improves accuracy.

Yeah. It's kind of hard to explain the "hybrid" setup though.
