Off Season Lets Talk Guns

Been a while since we had a guns n' ammo discussion.

Some of you are AR shooters Im sure. Im looking at a Colt 6920. Will be my first AR. Picked up a Glock this fall and really enjoy shooting it. Any feedback on that weapon?

Anyone else been in a buy/sell/trade mood with hardware?

I found a great gun cleaning product that I'd never heard of before.

http://www.mpro7.com/mpro7-gun-cleaner.html

I was cleaning my 1911 over at my buddy's house and he had some. This stuff is amazing - blows Hoppes No. 9 away. I had been overdue for a cleaning and this stuff ate through the built-up gunk like nobody's business. Makes cleaning a breeze (also eats up oil, too, so lubricate liberally when done).

I was impressed enough that I came home and immediately ordered a big spray bottle of it.

Does anyone here have a biometric gun safe...the fingerprint scan access type? I'd like to get one for my pistol, but I don't know how well they work. Like if I'm awoken at night and stumble to the safe, is it going to open reliably, as well as keep my kids out at other times?

I have one.

You have to make sure you let it read your fingers from the angle you'll be reaching for it. Mine is a little finicky that way, but it also has a key code that I'd probably use instead if I needed in quick.

I am heading to Colorado tomorrow, and there is a 1000 yard range next to where we are staying.

I will check the laws, but someone here my know the answer to my question:

Can I take my 20 and 30 round mags into the state?

I have a couple of 10's for my AR-10NM, but I want to take my shorty AR-15 for more fun.

You'd better stick with the 20s.

PMags with 77 grain HPBT.

I shoot a shitload so maybe it's due to the volume. 77 grain bullets are a little longer than normal.

Did they jam when they were new? Maybe the springs are shot. In any event, it doesn't sound right.

I'm slowly building up a decent ammo collection. Unfortunately, my safe can't hold the ammo anymore. I'm looking to build a solid oak foot locker that locks. Anybody use this method.
