Off Season Lets Talk Guns

Been a while since we had a guns n' ammo discussion.

Some of you are AR shooters Im sure. Im looking at a Colt 6920. Will be my first AR. Picked up a Glock this fall and really enjoy shooting it. Any feedback on that weapon?

Anyone else been in a buy/sell/trade mood with hardware?

I have heard the same thing many times.
Mine is a 1942. Pretty sure it was built after Stalin loaded up his tooling & moved it to the other side of the Ural Mountains. Guess he didnt like the Luftwaffe dropping bombs on his industrial factories.
My biggest gripe would be the trigger pull. You can shim some of it out with tin from a pop can. very easy to do,& makes for a much better trigger

Ask your shoulder that after you fire it.

I have one and enjoy shooting it.......with a towel between my shoulder and the metal buttstock.

I joked to my dad when we first tried it out that the reason so many Russians died in the war is because they were shot while rubbing their shoulders.........

When I was at the rifle range yesterday the guy next to me was shooting one. He owns several of them and was breaking in one he'd just bought. He said the iron sights are dogshit (his front sight came loose as he was firing) but he liked the rifle.

I certainly had my share of issues yesterday - my red dot, which I had to remove when putting on the new rail, didn't zero worth a shit, and between that and going from a fixed to free float hand guard it was so far off paper that I couldn't even tell where I was hitting initially. Never did get sighted in completely because we had to leave early - the place was mobbed, too - combination of hunters getting ready for the season and one of the last nice weekends we'll have this year. Oh well.

I'm becoming really disenchanted with that Lucid sight - I think next year I'm going to upgrade to either an EOTech or an ACOG.

Heh. Yeah, the guy that was shooting one next to me yesterday said it kicked like a shotgun. If I get one I'll definitely add some sort of padding.

No, he is tough.

I am the guy that gets a bruised pussy when I shoot it.

BTW, Carolinashooters have Saiga 7.63x39 on sale for $289. Add a $90 conversion kit and you have a badass AK for under 4 bills.

Saiga Pistol Grip Conversion from New Mode DVD on Vimeo.

Adds pistol grip, moves and replaces trigger. It's a much better trigger, too.

NCstar seems to be the McDonald's of rifle accessories. I ordered a bipod from them which is barely useful.

NCstar is junk. No if & or buts about it. If you have a flat top & want great glass, that gathers light, crystal clear edge to edge. Once again the old Simmons Atech scopes on Ebay cant be beat.
