I need Firefox help

My Firefox is all jacked up. The back and forward buttons no longer work, the history doesn't work, and the bookmarks are all gone. Also it will not let me add new bookmarks, nor does it recognize previously typed in web addresses in the browser.

I've been looking all over google and found a lot of so-called solutions but they either don't work or are a little over my head in their computer nerdiness. Can anybody tell me in semi-layman's terms how to fix this?

heh, I was just going to say, anytime I've had issues like this, it's been right AFTER I upgraded it.

first try the update per Bearcat and if that doesn't work then try the loochy method

don't forget to export bookmarks AND don't forget to choose to delete all your personal setting when you uninstall. I might even delete the firefox folder just for good measurement. Firefox is a quick download/install ... no reason to not just shred it and start over.

The real bummer would be if the corruption isn't with the browser software, it's just where you are 'seeing' it the results.

Thanks so much! Everything works fine now.

I upgraded from 3.5 to 3.6 the other day I think, and that's when everything screwed up. The 4.0 fixed everything though.

Thanks again.

No reason to use FF anymore, IMO.

Chrome is vastly superior.

mozilla did screwed up the flash in firefox but the flexibility and custom ability of firefox is so superior to chrome.

Chrome is barebone fast ... that's about it.
