So. How are things going in Egypt?

The entire media/white house/obama folk seem terribly silent on the goings on in Egypt. So whats up with Baraks foreign policy/hillary/Kerry/morsi love.

Any update on the death toll?

It seems our policy was to dither as long as possible and then side with the least favorable outcome.

Who said success? Just seems so odd that when Morsi and Your boy Obama were bumpin dicks every week Egypt was hot news. Now not so much. Dick.

In that case let me rephrase my answer. It's been a smashing success that just looks like total failure.

The Muslim Brotherhood would still be banned, Hosni Mubarak would still be in charge and friendly with the West, political reforms giving the Egyptian people more say in their government would be in place and expanding, and the Egyptian economy would be healthy, largely on the back of continued foreign tourism. Let's call it the Bush/Cheney approach, for short.

You had me up until the Bush/Cheney approach which was literally "What they have bigger dicks? Bomb them!"

Geez pat, I really can't understand how you go so far off the deep end on this topic.

What, exactly, should Obama have done to achieve this result? If I recall, your previous response to this question was that he should have "expressed support for Mubarak." Yes, a few words and a wave of the hand surely would have done the trick.

Bush/Cheney approach? Their approach was to 'spread democracy.' The people didn't want their 30-year dictator anymore. Morsi was elected in a democratic election--exactly what Bush/Cheney preached.

I don't know why it's so hard for you to understand our relationship with Egypt and the influence we had (until Obama screwed the pooch).

Bush/Cheney didn't insist on allied leaders stepping down to make room for democracy. Did you ever notice that? Instead, they used their influence to encourage them to adopt democratic reforms at a rate that didn't threaten the stability of the friendly regime.

Mubarek before his ouster, wasn't giving the US certain things he wanted. So he got removed...then elections to make it look democratic....followed by a coup engineered by our FP elites which are not really that much different now than under Bush/Cheney. And don't forget food prices have risen there too. This is more of a hardship on poorer countries. ( and our poor and elderly here) Afterall, the banking cartel is a global one and it's Keynesian too.

The people revolted and threw him out. He was a corrupt dictator (a real one, not the pretend Obama-type corrupt dictator). Now, I understand Mubarak was OUR corrupt dictator and we liked him, but you have yet to explain how Obama 'screwed the pooch.' Obama didn't say he should step down until it was inevitable anyway. But what should Obama have done--send in troops to stop the overthrow of a dictator? What should he have done--and would it have mattered?

Holding the US president responsible for another country's political decisions is really ridiculous.

I've answered this question for you before and all you do is herp out and pretend I'm saying something ridiculous. Mubarak's ouster wasn't inevitable until he lost the support of his biggest benefactor.
