The one time I stayed in Estes Park a group of us stayed a a friend's time share cabin. It was incredibly nice. I am sure there are a ton of vacation rental home/cabins up there to choose from. Check out vrbo.com

My family used to vacation in Estes Park all the time. We always stayed at the YMCA of the Rockies. http://www.ymcarockies.org/
It's a nice facility where you can rent cabins if you'd like...it's right up against the National Park, has a nice lodge with a store, activities, and it's kind of separated from town but real close. |

And running for your very life is a can't-miss activity for young and old alike.

Check out the YMCA of the Rockies. If you only need a cabin for a couple nights they might have something available. If you need more nights it will be hit or miss.

There are a LOT of independent cabin operators heading up towards RMNP. Most of them are in the $100 or so range a night and while not luxurious are nice and well located. I would definitely go that route rather than hit up one of the hotels/motels in Estes itself.
Otherwise, if money is not a problem the Stanley is where I would stay. |

We stayed at Peak-to-Peak, an old style motor lodge. It's run by a very nice couple and is relatively inexpensive. http://www.peaktopeaklodge.com/
Depending on how long you want to poke around Estes, staying in Ft. Collins can be a lot of fun. Take the New Belgium tour. Stop by Estes Brewery - Do the tasting then head upstairs for some grub. Get a sixpack to go.

We're looking at a cabin at the Jellystone campground. Does anyone have any experience with that outfit?

I have little knowledge of Estes Park, sorry. Only been there twice, and never overnight.

Depending on when you go, you can go to Greeley and watch the Broncos practice and heckle them.
