Game of Thrones (spoiler-free zone)

A few have suggested it, might as well test the waters. The idea is to give people who haven't read the books a safe place to talk about the show.

A few quick ground rules:
  • No Spoilers!!!!! for upcoming episodes.
  • Larger Song of Ice and Fire discussion should be limited to the other thread although I think a tiny bit of book delving to fill in holes should be okay (example of this would be talking about Catelyn and her treatment of the wolves in the novel, which was alluded to on TV but never really made clear...)
  • Everything that happened that week is fair game once an episode airs. So if you don't watch on Sunday night, I'd stay outta here until you do...

I'm considering sending my first fans submission to a podcast over this. I'm sure it would be hilarious to go over on a live show.

I have to admit, I went from your very first comment about Brienne to the first spoiler and naturally connected the two... I was raging for a moment, all "**** YOU!!!!!!"

Agreed on jaime's nutsack!

The Psycho scene wasn't very sexy, but I can't think of Anne Hesche without thinking of that scene she did in Wild Side with Joan Chen. That was a tasty scene back in the day.

Was watching a recent Suburgatory [DON'T JUDGE ME!!!!], and I have to ask. . . Is it just me? I don't know. . . IMDB has no info on the matter, . . . but I don't think it's me, . . . but where would she get the time? . . . But man, if not, that's startling nonetheless.

That doesn't look even a little like Michelle Fairley?
Should add, the voice was very similar in timbre, though she had no accent as that character.
Then again, there is some actress making the round of guest TV appearances [most recently the daughter of the doctor who was poisoned on Person of Interest], who is Jennifer Lawrence's doppleganger.

Maybe that's a new trend in Hwood, finding new talent that looks like bigger stars.

Meh. There's a vague resemblance, I guess. But not enough that I knew WTF you were talking about...

You might be a little more gobsmacked if you saw the actual video. Once I made the connection my mind was pushing me to make, I couldn't unsee it from any angle of her features, any aspect of her mannerisms, or anything about her voice except the lack off accent [which the character would require as it's a upscale NE suburban cougar].

This might be the strongest season so far. So many well-written storylines and well-developed characters. I remember after Ned was killed, I worried about whether GoT would be strong enough for the other characters to carry it (most of the S1 Westeros action was shown to us through Ned's perspective and we sympathized with him as the main protagonist). Seems like such an absurd concern now considering the show's depth.

I agree to a point. I liked Ned Stark, the Kingslayer and half man kicking butt and being a smart ass, loved Drago in the first season.

Don't care about ginger and bastard Stark romance, seeing half man belittled, Kingslayer not being a bad ass, Stark's son being anything but heroic, Bratheon and his castle drama.

BTW, last we saw Bratheon he was captured alive by the Lannisters. Why did they let him live? Why didn't we see that part? Seems essential info.

Stannis? He fled. He wasn't captured.

I thought he had got off the ladder at the top of the wall was was fighting hand to hand when Daddy Lannister showed up.

Also I didn't see where the guy was a traitor to Bratheon. Last I remember he was getting blown up by the wild fire.

He was a traitor because he spoke out against Melisandre and told Stannis to abandon her. Stannis then tossed Davos into the dungeons for treason vecause he tried to attack Melisandre. You sure you've watched this season?
