Misc Selling an item on Craigslist - Would it be wrong to....

Bring one of those counterfeit money detector markers and make sure the money is real? I'm selling a guy my old iPhone for $160... the deal is gonna be straight cash homie, but I've never sold anything through CL before so I'm not sure of the protocol. Would it be weird for me to bust out the marker when he hands me the money?

Nothing wrong with it at all..

Just tell him someone paid you in counterfeit cash on an earlier CL transaction, and you didn't enjoy the questioning by the FBI you got after you deposited it. Assure the guy it's nothing against him, but you'd rather not do that again.

Yes it would be a little weird. Unless you live somewhere that has rampant counterfeiting issues.

But who cares? It's not a date. I would think your need for peace of mind would easily trump the need to seem normal to a stranger.
