Sporting Kansas City was eliminated from MLS Cup contention after losing to Houston 2-1 aggreagate over the span of two games. They finished the year as US Open Cup Champions and a Kansas City team record of 63 points.

I would say it absolutely is even though they would not confirm that. He also made clear what we already know...if it is about outbidding an EPL, Serie A, La Liga, or Bundesliga team we can't compete.

One more thing with Espinoza. When all this Wigan talk started the feel was that he was as good as gone...so much that he might not finish out the season. My thought then was that he would finish the season and then move on (which is still my thought) but after that transfer window passed there seemed to be more of a change of a opinion that SKC had a chance to hold to him. This past week that talk has faded away and him moving on seems like more of an inevitability.

I am guessing SKC and the MLS have made him a very nice offer and I am guessing he will move on.

The problem with moving to Wigan is that Wigan sucks. If they get relegated, he'd be stuck in a league that's worse than MLS.

It's a bit of a shit situation for everyone. It's his last chance to move to Europe, I'm sure. Best case scenario, he impresses and stays up with Wigan or gets sold to a Premier League team. Worst case, he's still making more money...

It's always hard to lose players on a free though.
